Installed aftermarket digital rearview mirror (Gentex)

This looks amazing…I’ve been looking for a frameless mirror, not to mention the cool camera capabilities built in...

Does this integrate with Ford’s wiring? My hangup has been finding a mirror that talks to the driver side mirror for auto-dimming function as I thought those two were connected.

No issue with keeping the auto dim for the mirror and drivers outside mirror also retains the dimming.

How difficult was the install?

Took me longer to find the pin out for the drivers side mirror - & +. Total time after finding pinout around 45 minutes.

You should check out the Rydeen Tombo 360 which also has a 360 dashcam and you can swipe the mirror screen to view all around you and is half the price. As for the rear camera, dont stick it to the glass, instead make a bracket that sits up in the headliner so the camera 'floats' in the middle at all times. I'll take a photo of mine soon and post it here.

I don’t think the instructions for the 50/50 rear view are in the spreadsheet. The removal of the black box on the rear cam at speed is.

If you go into the main Forscan thread, is discussed in there probably 2-3 pages back. It’s only working for about half of those that try it.

it is however listed under APIM in Forscan. But it did not work for me.

Can you integrate the Ford cameras, including front facing on those that have front cameras, into a Dashcam. i.e. capture trip data using the built in cameras instead of adding yet another device blocking your view of the road ahead?

Not sure if anyone's responded to you, but I am pretty sure the driver side dimming mirror has its own sensor within it, i.e. not linked to the rear-view.
At least I think that's how it was in our 17 Plat. Our 21 XLT doesn't have it so maybe it's changed for the new gen.

Wanted to bump this up as I'm looking at something similar for my 22 XL. Wanting a dash cam that has a display, but feel like it would be more beneficial to do a digital mirror that has the dash cam built into it. I don't have the factory bed camera, just the reverse camera in the tail gate, and no front camera. Thinking of going with this one since it comes with the bracket to mount under the factory 3rd brake light.

I agree, just rode in my son's 23 GMC AT4 and fell in love with the digital rearview mirror. Embarrassed my 23 Lariat couldn't matchup.

hey Kaboom, great job and thanks for sharing i went ahead and bought the mirror and was wondering if you figured out pin No. 9 of the mentioned photo which is basically a reverse signal in the event the mirror was in the auto dim feature it will make it go back to normal for reversing purpose..

do you have a write up on how you integrated your mirror with the oem wiring??
