Incentive and Offers from Ford

I qualified for the College Grad incentive of $1000 (up from $750) but the offer ends on Aug 3rd and it looks like my new truck will not be delivered by then. Ford was “kind” enough to notify me the offer is ending soon. I also noticed Ford is now offering a $1500 incentives for those who ordered in between July 7 and 30 Sep, and take delivery by Sept 30. Given folks who ordered in February are still waiting, what are they doing for us? It is probably not likely they will have to honor any of the new incentives since those placing an order in those months will probably not take delivery by the end date.

My impression is Ford wants to appear as if they are extending us an offer that they will not really need to honor.

For what it’s worth, I’ve been assured by more than one salesman that you will get the incentives that were active when you placed the order or the incentives that are active when you take delivery, whichever is better. But yeah the language in the fine print about taking delivery by a certain date is confusing.

I’ve also read about the Ford Incentive Protection program and one of the salesman I spoke to mentioned it. I haven’t seen anything that’s been published recently about it. Ford’s site also says you get incentives from time of order or at time of final delivery.

Incentives are pretty good right now for my area. I made sure I had my salesman say in an email that I’ll get the amount of incentives that I’m expecting. If the number is less at time of delivery, I’ll walk.

EDIT: Forgot to mention I took a screenshot of all the offers, their fine print, and program numbers with the zip code in view so I have some documentation whenever delivery rolls around (example attached)

Truck came in early - But the dealer had to "check" with Ford on the college incentive. A week later they told me that I could only get the lower incentive because the invoice price of the vehicle went up and they did not change the price of what I was originally quoted. Feel like I am being screwed on this deal, but I got the truck!

Also the on the college credit incentive: if you are using X-Plan it is reduced from 1000 for purchase to 750.

Definitely not the market for free flowing incentives, but with everything else going up I can imagine by the time incentives make a comeback prices will be even higher.

Current incentives are through September 30th so i doubt they will change until after that.

Did Ford take away the $1,000 retail order bonus cash incentive? It’s no longer showing on the Ford website (for my zip code at least). Only offer available now is 1.9% for 60 months.

I didn’t get the 1000 custom order incentive as I was told that it was not available when my order was placed.

Ended up with 750 student rebate and 500 bonus cash that was running when I placed the order. XPlan still honored so in the end XPlan and incentives covered my tax and licensing. Not great but I guess can’t really expect any more in this market.
