Ford Retail Incentive Protection?

Does Ford offer Retail Incentive Protection? For example, at the time a retail order is placed for build, incentives are locked in. Then, , the buyer can choose the higher of either the locked incentives (from order date) or current incentives. Also, does this include Ford Credit incentives (currently $1000 w/ low APR)?

From my understanding. That is the way it works. At least it did for me and several others I have seen here.... well technically I guess you could point out that truly NOTHING is locked in. Tow package pricing for example. But generally I believe most dealers are saying you get the best option of the two incentive periods. Time of order, or time of delivery.

I am working with a dealer on ordering a Platinum and delaying until April 1. Given that current incentives are nil, I am considering waiting until April 1 and the new incentive program announcement. The dealer is telling me there is NO incentive protection.

Ken, I have heard / seen both... I believe that any incentive "lock" is provided at the dealers risk. If correct that would most likely mean that the dealer would place a risk bucket into the deal to cover the potential of the incentive going away or being less at the time of delivery....

If the incentive go up there really isn't any issue unless you don't want the additional incentive being offer by Ford, but then you could always sign the incentive over to the dealer...

I ordered my Platinum two days ago and my dealer is going to give me the best incentive when my truck arrives. I would imagine that's because there's still plenty of meat on the bone for them which ever way it goes?.

That is exactly how I ordered my truck. At delivery I will have the opportunity to take the incentives that were available at the time of the order or the incentives available at the time of delivery. That includes my PCO.

In my case, my PCO is still valid (3/31) and my trucks is only days away. The incentives have not changes either, so it is a wash. But, for many dealers, that is how they do it. The Regional Ford Rep is who really drives the bus on this, though.
