I hope you never need a steering wheel

I had the steering wheel on my 2021 KR replaced under warranty today. My truck has 35k miles and the leather on top of the wheel was peeling. This work order showed a cost of $1592 to replace a steaming wheel. WOW

That's insane... was the peeling leather the main reason? Perhaps you could look into one of those protective steering wheel covers to prevent that from happening again.

I guess that's a lot. But maybe worth it to be able to de-wrinkle your clothes on the way to a meeting.

I'll stick to my daughter's hair dryer/straigtherner/curling iron.

It was replaced only for the peeling issue. It as under warranty or. It would not have been done.

Well good thing there was a warranty, although it's surprising that it was peeling already being that it's only a 2021!

It is a known issue with that particular wheel.

I've had issues with my 08,12,14 and 17 doing this. I had a Tungsten wedding ring. After I swapped (lost in the ocean) to a rubber band, I haven't had this issue anymore. I think the metal bands are tearing these steering wheel apart.

It is a known issue and mine was replaced this past week under warranty. Service adviser stated the same. He stated the wheel was 700 dollars than over two hours for install. He was explaining the computer modules took longer to update than the wheel install itself.
