Congratulations on your purchase! I am sure you will have a great time figuring out all the tech..
As others have mentioned, it probably defeats the purpose to buy something this technologically advanced and then turn everything off! While there will always be instances where someone's data was misused, for most people the benefits far outweigh the negatives..
Disabling the modem might prevent you from getting needed software updates..
I have Blue Cruise and adaptive cruise control along with lane centering and they are some of the best driver assistance features that make driving less stressful and safer..
I hope you trust the system and embrace the technology and enjoy this amazing truck!

I spent hours idling in my driveway just going through menus and settings options with the manual available for explanation.
Remember. The OP thinks if you were sitting in your driveway idling, you meant the truck was idling.
That's very misleading to a non-Powerboostr. ?

You meant YOU were idling, cuz internal combustion engine wasn't.

I'm actually looking forward to learning and using the tech..But it won't be easy. The only time I have been in a vehicle with the newest nannies was in a 2022 fancy SUV my Brother borrowed from his mother in law. Lane assists chimes went off and I asked him what it was. He said his favorite was adaptive cruise control..
I guess worrying about it is useless but I just don't trust 3rd parties who absolutely will want the data..Cop's can already track and stop remotely some vehicles. But actually I was worried that Ford's computers would take a crap/hack and my truck would roll to a stop somewhere. The big 12" screen is a huge update/upgrade for LX trims and the biggest reason I picked a 2024 vs a 2023. The actual dash gets it too. Same or close to the highest trims. Of course the XL is not going to get everything but the basic display on the dash and the 12" screen now are the same. That goes a long ,long way to loose the 'work truck' stigma.

i will say....only 100% way to stop ford from gleaming info is to cut the wires to the modem and toss gps ant out the window

i dont really worry as i am sure the Navy chipped me ? , i know my dna is on file, thanks clinton, texas has enough from my licenses
phone never gives up...i get adds from just talking to a person in the store
have fun with it ??

and all the tech....i find easter eggs all the time
it takes a while to THINK you know it all, then boom you find out something new
we have a great group here of BRAINS that freely share the knowledge
thats why i am here...i

If you own a phone, it and the apps send data everywhere about you and your browsing, photos, surfing, phone calls etc. Every cell phone tower you ping off tells a tale.

Good luck on discovering all the "tech" before actually getting to experience it first hand. :)
Oh, and I didn't realize that the 2024 XL was being upgraded to the 12" Sync4. That's awesome!

You'll be finding out tidbits for weeks/months after you have had the truck. Afterall, the owners manual is 750 pages? ?

As for big brother, I'm with my good friend BigDogDaddy. You could be driving a perfectly restored 1965 F100 with that Note8 in the cab with you and you are just as On-the-grid as you will be in the 2024.
MY WIFE ASKED ME WHY I SPOKE SO SOFTLY IN THE HOUSE. I SAID I WAS AFRAID MARK ZUCKERBERG WAS LISTENING! SHE LAUGHED. I LAUGHED. ALEXA LAUGHED. SIRI LAUGHED.

I'm getting a 2024 XL single cab and one big reason why I chose that over a 2023 was getting the 12" screen and the latest tech. Since I'm driving a older Honda (2015 Fit) I have never seen or used the technology newer vehicles have.. even common things like Android auto! I was happy enough to just connect my phone to it. I'm sure some will be a challenge and I will have to learn how to fully connect my Note 8 (hope it will work!) to get the most out of of my new truck!
But there is a lot more to the tech that a 2024 comes with than just receiving a phone call. Most I haven't experienced first hand and truthfully I'm a little concerned about the 'Big Brother' aspect of some of it. I've always been concerned with privacy just with my phone. Kathy ALWAYS put a piece of tape over the camera on her laptop lolol! Some of the features seems to boost safety like automatic braking lane assist and things along that line and that is one reason I'm buying new to take advantage of it. What do YOU find useful? Do you turn some off you find annoying or distractingly? Can you? I'm really really hoping I can download a/the owner's manual to get a head start on figuring some of this out way before I actually get the truck. I don't want to be driving back from Granger trying to figure out that 12" screen..
What's important to you and do you have any tricks or tips to take advantage of all this new technology Ford puts in the newer trucks?
24 Tremor , Turned most of that Sh-t off. Really annoying.
