Hey all, just watched a video that showed two RVs being powered at the same time with Fords Powerboost 7200w system that is drawing from A and B circuits at the same time from using only ONE cable plugged into the 240 V outlet.

Mine will only draw from the A side and shuts down after 3600 W. Obviously there is a way to do this, but can’t seem to find an adapter to pull it off. Anyone have a suggestion or is this not possible any longer with the later models of the pro power on board system.

I would sure like to find this out also. I just tried out my pro power on board with the 7.2 K generator and I could only monitor one side also. There’s gotta be a way to get the full 7.2 system to work with both A&B sides on.

The generator plug on the 7.2kw PPOB is wired just like a standard 4-prong outlet: you have 2 hots 180 degrees out of phase, a neutral, and a ground. Hot to hot is 240v, either hot leg to neutral is 120v. This provides 240v at 30a, or 2x 120v at 30a each. You can't combine the two 120v legs to drive loads larger than 30a at 120v, as they are out of phase.

What type of plug does your camper have? If you have a 30a camper with a 3-prong plug, you can only use one phase. That one phase is sufficient to provide 30a to the camper, which is the size of the main breaker in the camper's panel. The other phase can drive a second 30a camper if you have the right adapter (or anything else you might want to hook up to that phase).

If you have a 4-prong 50a plug, you camper is wired with both phases (50a on each side of the panel). You can use the full 7200 watts from both legs (30a + 30a). I have this setup on my camper and it works great - runs both air conditioners without any issues. You are limited to 30a on each phase.

I bought this adapter and run a 30a generator cord most of the time, as the 30a cord is a lot easier to handle than the 50a version and I don't need the extra power. https://www.amazon.com/MECMO-L14-30...keywords=l14-30+to+50a2&qid=1747851827&sr=8-1

Thanks for the info. When I did hook my 30 amp trailer up to the pro power on board, I ran everything in the trailer and only drew about 2000 W maximum. I guess everything is the way it should be. Thanks again.

I can run my AC just fine but when I flip on my built-in vacuum system, it goes over 3600W and everything shuts down. This is why I was hoping I could draw from both ANB at the same time for a total of 7200 W, but I’m guessing that’s not possible.

I finally did find an adapter that would allow me to power TWO 30a trailers at once - each drawing no more than 3600w and using just the one 220 four prong plug in the truck. The display in the truck now shows both A and B drawing simultaneously. ?

I don’t have the vacuum system in my trailer, but I did run my AC, my microwave and all the lights. I don’t plan on boondocking much, but I just wanted to make sure everything would work. Hopefully it will.?

I have my vacuum system hardwired in, but somehow I need to get a soft start installed somewhere in the circuit. I’m wondering if an AC soft start would work for a vacuum system. ?
