I have a 21 powerboost that I bought used this month. I’ve had it connected to WIFI and attempted to get it to update multiple times. The screen says I’m on software version 23159_PRODUCT revision 915 but I’m having trouble drilling down what version I should be on. I called ford and they want to charge $200 to update it. I’ve also seen posts here saying that people have taken their trucks to ford and they’ve been unsuccessful while still charging. Any ideas what I should do or if I even need an update? I’d like a list of what the updates do if so. Thx

You are not very far behind at all. You don't really need any of the updates that come later. No major new features are added since 2022, with couple exceptions below.

Most likely given your version you are probably one of the trucks that Ford has not released the gateway update on. There is nothing you can do about this and nothing dealer can do about it. Behind that gateway update is another sync update to get you to 23291.

FDRS can update things yourself in your driveway but this is an expensive $600 investment that isn't necessary for majority of owners.

FDRS can give you turn signal cameras with trailer attached, if you have 360 cameras. This update also has improvements to Bluecruise and adaptive cruise control. The update for those two things is still exclusive to manual install with FDRS.
