Now that the scratch has been fixed I think I’m going straight to a PPF wrap on the hood. I’d love to do the whole truck but that stuff is $$$$. AVS products look good and are the most cost effective way to protect the leading edge of the hood, but after a short poll of my friends, they all say they’d make fun of me for it haha.

PPF on areas that are prone to high amounts of impact. the hood being an example.
Yeah for sure. Sure wish full PPF was in the budget, but 10k plus is insane. I’ll do the hood and mirrors. I don’t like partial panel coverage as the paint fades differently and you can see the dirty edge.

yep that’s just about why i did whole panels only on my personal rig.
I did PPF for the full front end and roof. I plan to use it as a sacrificial layer for UV protection and remove it after about 5-7 years. This baby never sees the shade and bakes in the VA sun all day, every day.

i didn’t bother wrapping my roof since the truck is lifted and nobody will ever see up there lol. i am in the same situation as you too except replace VA with TX ?

HA! With TX I bet that UV cooks the clear coat in about 5 - 6 years if not protected. You guys got it rough. I debated about the roof but since I have the moonroof and let the wrap guy do it in pieces, he did not charge me much for it.
