For most of my daily driving with my 21 Lariat PB, I pretty much go with the flow, and try maximize my MPG. However my need for speed sometimes overcomes my practicality. Yesterday was one of those moments. For the first time in quite a while, I popped it into sport and laid right into it! Hang onto your hat kids because this bad boy means business!
for the first time some my last TSB update (that totally transformed my driving experience in a good way) I gave it all it has. This beast of a truck pinned me in my seat and brought a grin from ear to ear. And all of this from a truck that has a lifetime 23 mpg.

The PB will definitely surprise you with just how much power it has. First time my wife rode with me she asked what's the acceleration like, so I rhomped on it. Saw her eyes open wide in amazement as her head got pinned back against the headrest and said "Yeah... It's got some pickup.."

Technical service bulletin. It was to address the bucking while going uphill. They reprogrammed the tranny and set the “learning” tables.

Exactly. I want to start posting "my worst fuel economy" screenshots. I'm weary of the posts from the knuckleheads who think they bought a Prius. ;-)

I've enjoyed trying to get good fuel mileage but have also enjoyed breaking the tires loose when she shifts into 2nd. Amazing truck!

Sigh....

Wish mine knew what 2nd gear was. It all but refuses to use that gear instead doing a 1-3 skip shift even on Sport mode.

Mine goes into 2nd pretty often now, and I wish it didn't. The 2nd-3rd shift is particularly rough.

If it's doing this in normal mode then use Forscan and reset the transmission adaptive tables. Afterwards drive it around on city streets calmly for about 20 minutes for it to reset the base tables. It will continue to adapt to your driving style over the next 250 miles and should settle down with the harsh shifting.

I doubt you'll still get 23 mpg while using winter blend fuel and heater running.

While mine is not a Powerboost, my 101XL trim is pretty lightweight for a crewcab 6.5ft bed.

It was silly fast for a truck of that size, and after just loading up some performance tunes from Livernois, it's downright FAST.

Definitely feel the extra 60+HP and 100+ft.lb of torque

With 35s and a level its one mean machine!
