Not defending Ford because there's no defense for such things, but as consumers we can't be shocked at the teething pains that a first-release product like this is likely to provide?
This is no ordinary F150 in so many ways. Just the shear number of components that must play in harmony is daunting. I knew going in that I must either be crazy or just brave and stupid to purchase a year one of something this complex, but I just WANTED it so bad from the moment I digested what the potential of this thing in my lifestyle offered.

But I'll be right here fussin about its shortcomings when I experience any. Lol
I agree, there is risk in a first release. I am just annoyed. :)

I have to say, my early build (Nov) PowerBoost has really been exceptional. I had the windshield recall, the headed mirror update and had them address the 3rd gear shift getting a bit harsh, which was a software correction.

All and all I'm happy to say I am very pleased and very impressed with my truck.

Now, I hope I didn't jinx myself.
For a while I was really happy. growing pains. I am sure that when it comes back to me and is working great again, I will calm down.

Sounds like you are the right mindset for year 1. :)
Although it wouldn't apply to faulty hardware itself, so much of this package is software. And that leaves considerable area for the early adopters to get improvements as development continues.

It'd be awesome if it were more like our pc's and every Tuesday various updates were available and you could pick/choose if/when you wanted them. Alas that's just dreaming I realize.

Still, could you imagine going back in time and parking this truck in your high school parking lot? It would literally be like science fiction on wheels. And at 63, the coolest kids back then had muscle cars, so it would really be a shock that your pickup truck was also the fastest vehicle as well.

We live in remarkable times and perhaps a bit jaded? Lol

When RAM announced a "hybrid" V8, I was interested, but it turned out to be a belt-drive-starter and no improvement in mpg … when Ford was rumored to be building a hybrid F-150 I wasn't expecting anywhere near this much truck … compared to experience with a 2015 F-250 and a newer F-150 (both excellent at their job, but not vehicles I would ever choose to drive) the F-150 Prius is an astonishing leap forward and the vehicle I get in after walking past a couple of Porsches, a Tesla and a couple of other all "dream" cars … strange thing, but it's just such an enjoyable thing to drive … I guess I'm still in the "honeymoon" period. : )

No Tesla, but I do get to choose daily what mood I'm in, and I'm kinda hoping the new wears off the dang truck so it doesn't get the nod as often as it has been. The whole point of having a stable is to spread those annual miles around and thus everything stays fresh longer. :)

I like your garage, I have a Miata for play also. I wanted to check out the Boxster's but could not find one. The Miata is just a blast to drive though.

Thanks. Except it's not a garage. Shhhhhh

It's a barn. :)
And it does have a little guest house on one end which is just a place for your grown kids to stay for whatever reasons they come up with. Lol

Yea, the Mazdarati and the Boxster....my older brother likes to say that I have all the hairdresser cars. I just roll with it. They are both such a hoot to rotate, if you know what I mean. (which you obviously do)

That's a decent-sized money pit you're digging there!
What's the first bike, Moto Guzzi Stelvio with … upgrades?
Coincidentally I have a Ducati for the track and Aprilia for the dirt … I like v-twins.
Also, I had the first gen MX-5 Miata and first gen Boxster. Both completely rewrote the rules on how much fun you can have and barely break the speed limit … fitting company in the garage with the F-150 Hybrid that has rewritten the book on pickups and a lot of fun within the speed limit (ish.)

It's a Super Tenere that I had heavily massaged for using as a pack-mule and bullet proof for when the mother of my children was on the back and we would be thousands of miles from home. I went ahead and threw custom paint it since it was the only thing left OEM. :)

It's unstoppable. But it's a Beast to pick up from a dirt nap when you are old and tired.

What an insanely cool bike! I think it earns the name, Ténéré. Also reminds me of Touareg.
I could pretend to know what it means, and tell a tale of trekking the Sahara and learning the local music, but no, I heard it on The Colbert Show years ago, and now I still play African "dream" music from Tinariwen and other bands that youtube serves up when I want something in the background while I work sometimes.
Anyway, thanks, it's great to see bikes that people really use, not just "I checked all the boxes at the BMW dealer." : ) Though I should say one of my favorite bikes is the BMW Paris Dakar from the 80's … the first time I rode one, I was in the Navy and sharing a house with two guys, one of them had a Paris Dakar bike and let me ride it in the middle of the night to bring back pizzas … good lord, it was practically unrideable below 30 mph … and half drunk, with four pizza boxes on the tank … middle of the night through hilly winding roads to the local store … insanity. How am I still alive?
And your other toy is a Learjet?

Ford just lemoned my Powerboost this week for the same issues as yours. I was very patient at first so mine ended up spending 8 weeks at the dealership.
