hi i want to make some changes to my powerboost with forscan. in particular bambi mode, door chimes, seat belt chimes and the back up beeping. I've searched and watched videos but they have different numbers or letters in their modules. How do i know exactly which to change on my as built data? any help would be much appreciated thanks

Save the current configuration for each module before making changes by clicking the Save All button at the bottom of the list. Just be sure to name it something that makes sense. Such as BCM Pre Bambi.

For Bambi mode for example you go into the BCM (AS-BUILT) and look for the following line.

726-39-02

Next to it you will see three blocks of codes with 4 letters/numbers in each block.

XXX0 XXXX XXXX

It doesn't matter what they currently are. In this case you need to change the 4th character from what ever it is in the first block XXX* XXXX XXXX to 0.

Then select Write and follow the prompts. It will have you cycle the key off and back on. Then close out of the active connection to the BCM.

In some instances you need to reset the associated module after writing the new code and completing the key off/on sequence. Close out of the module when you're finished with all the changes. Then click on the wrench icon and look for the module. You should see "Reset Module" next to it. Click that and follow the prompts. The reset may take 30+ seconds so complete and may prompt you to shut the key off during the reset process.

Just watched some 40 min video on forscan. There appears to be a save all feature for backing up the as built modules. When you do this, it backs up all those available modules right?

However, the as written version where you just click enable/disable for example, there is no backup? Is that correct? Anyway to backup those modules? Or do I just backup the as built and then go to make my changes in the as written section.

I’m really just looking to enable Bambi mode and remove the rear view notification that shows up when you try to view rear camera while driving.

To back up all modules you have to go into each module as-built configuration separately and click "save all". There will be a FORScan backup file (.abt) for each module in your documents > FORScan folder.

There is no backup capability in "easy mode". If you make a change in easy mode, best practice is to then go into as-built configuration and back up by doing a save all again.

Rather than watching videos which can be factually inaccurate, read livnitup's tutorial linked in post #1 of the FORScan thread.

Thank you! I was more looking for a refresher starting with the video. I am a visual learner.

so I can make a backup in the as built configuration before making any changes in the easy mode. Simple enough.
