I love the LED headlights on my 21. But when driving in snow and ice the lights crust over due to lack of heat. Anyone know of a 12v add on headlight heater? Thanks Jim

I don’t live in cold weather, but a great question and I can see how this could be an issue.

I understand some new model transports have had to incorporate a defroster grid in the lens but I don’t know if passenger vehicles have caught up yet. But for a couple bad storms during that transitional period in the year it’s not been an issue for ours.

Interesting question. I can remember many years ago driving across upstate NY in a winter storm. One of those sleet snow freezing rain messes. Drove from Rome to Corning, by the time I got there there was Ice covering the headlights. Only a circle at the center remained open, and that was with the heat form Halogens.

It is a problem with led’s , but the solution you are asking for i have never heard of. That doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist, you just haven’t heard of it yet.

Retired and not looking. I am driving the wife crazy.
In the old days we just lit the old carbides and went on our way. They generated plenty of heat.

300 inches of snow yearly here in Western UP Michigan. Havent had that problem. I mean, they do sometimes get covered with Ice. But I dont notice any significant light output issues.

I'm in northern Michigan as well, and my 24 had no issues last year, and I run a snowplow and travel all over for work. I have been using McKee's Hydro Graphene spray, so maybe that helps? It's gold for paint as well...
