Love the look of the unreal setup. Wondering if I already have the super duty coding completed, do I need to undo that before following your steps? Just having trouble finding my back up prior to the change. Thx 4 your help

I already have the heated steering wheel but not connected to my STX. I look everywhere on the internet before starting but I wonder because just like you I will not add the HVAC module I will make it work only with the screen of my radio and I must activate in forscan 7D0-03-02 **xx / xxxx / xx— (10 = VP 558 super duty) when you say "look of the unreal setup" what exactly has changed?

There is 97 pages of comments here. Can someone easily tell me what part numbers I need to add heat to my steering wheel? I have a 2023 platinum with the steering wheel factory delete. My truck was not built in the time frame to get ford to add the parts for free.

It’s helpful. But it contains every part needed. Since mine was a factory delete, I just need to know what parts I need, not all of them. I have confirmed I have the plug on the back of the clock spring. Which means I’m just missing what to turn it on?

I would unplug the connector at the back of the clock spring and confirm the clock spring has the terminals in it. If it does, All you need is a wheel with the heating element and to do some forscan work. If the terminals are not there, then you will need a clock spring and the heated wheel, along with more forscan work (config of the SCCM and adding the soft button).

Getting the right terminals for the wiring is a tiny pain, but you don't have to worry about that.

Is there a chance I wouldn’t need a new steering wheel? I’d rather keep my factory one with the platinum trim.

You would have to pop off the airbag and see if the wiring was there. I would be surprised if it was just a clock-spring shortage, but you never know.

And what wiring would I be looking for exactly? Any way to check to see before I take out the steering bolt?

You just have to remove the airbag (please disconnect your battery first). There will be a pigtail with black and red wires. The are on the bottom of the airbag cavity on the right side. I you have those, again I would be surprised then you just need a clock spring. Something has to be mechanically missing for you to not have the option from the factory.

I see the recommended AC dash control unti includes buttons for heated/ventilated seats, dual zone AC etc. IS this the only alternative to a physical button or is there a panel for heated seats that excludes the additional options mentioned above? Would look pretty weird otherwise.

You would need to add the soft button on your touchscreen as there is no HVAC module that only has the buttons you mention.

So, I think I've gathered from the pic posted by TMicallef that I have the heated wheel already on my '23 Platinum. My manufactured date is past Ford's program to do it, so I'm on my own. Is there any possibility of just adding the soft button through Forscan and it would work? Or do I need the clock-spring, wiring mods, etc.? Sorry if this has been repeated for the folks whose truck actually came w/the heated wheel installed, but I only got so far through the 97 pages of this thread. Also, would a dedicated thread for adding HSW to trucks that already have the heated wheel be of interest to anyone? Thanks in advance! Here's a pic of my wheel:

Have you looked through the hole underneath your column to see if the harness that runs to the BCM is there? This will let you know if you either need a "soft button" activation or SCCM (steering column control module) or both.
