@tony72cutlass's' any insight here? A fellow 8" screener is in need of some assistance since you mastered it the first go round.

Not sure about mastered but thanks for the shout out!

When I did my programming nothing would work until I set it to ‘fully loaded’ which to me means heated and cooled seats ON, as well as HSW.

This means programming the HVaC module to have it all, as well as SCCm, as well as APIM

I have also read that there is a ‘soft reset’ in the APIM could help since my changes did not always take right away

Do you have +12V at the back of the SCCM connector?

My thinking is that this button on the 8" is a holdover from the previous gen which required Lariat and above. So you'd need to enable everything in the APIM, HVAC, SCCM for the programming to think and want to communicate.

@mrbuntman

Check out @superfordman ForScan sheet to make sure you did the right changes.

I must be be a tard. I got my car back tonight. New APIM. Went and redid the settings. Got to the Heated Wheel. Got it to show up on radio..........NICE......BUT NO HEAT!

They put in the new SCCM so I did a factory as built as saved downloaded it nothing. Then the HVAC setting is only in the "as built"?

This one is a hard one.

it is....... plus my forscan does not have these values it has the HW ON OR OFF ONLY

THE HVAC one only has the as built. Do I only use the "as built" for all of them?

@mrbuntman So, let’s first start what did you actually swap out.

Steering wheel - by the picture you posted it looks heated / has the plug for it.

SCCM - What part number did you swap it out with?
You did back up you old one prior to the swap than reload the values?

HVAC - is it the original one or did you swap this out too?

Your harness should be good since I think it came from me. You should have all the Forscan changes, BCM pin locations since I include that with the purchase.
WHERE did you ground the harness?

This is from your post

“I must be be a tard. I got my car back tonight. New APIM.“
What do you mean new APIM?

“Went and redid the settings. Got to the Heated Wheel. Got it to show up on radio..........NICE......BUT NO HEAT!
They put in the new SCCM”

Put another SCCM in?

Help us understand to help you

Mine doesn't get hot like the seats - just enough for me.

Please post what you did to correct the problems for others

2 things outside the normal instructions
  1. look for saved FORSCAN files
  2. went to an old copy of saved FORSCAN
  3. Reload old copy.
  4. save the SCCM and HVAC to another copy of the truck.
  5. Changer the HVAC values Last 2 in the first group.
  6. went back over HSW setting in FORSCAN some changed some did not from earlier.
  7. SAVED THAT MOFO
  8. BAMMMMMM! Red showed up
Now If I would have known on the hottest setting it was like my son breathing on my hands (VERY WEEK) I am not sure I would have spent the extra $ for the HEATED PART.

The paddles......That's different. EFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF YEA!

I have an extra brand new clock spring if anyone needs one for the HSW.

Question, if it was not grounded good would that cause it to also not get hot?

You are correct not completing the circuit means the current has nowhere to go

If your wheel is getting lukewarm then you have done it correctly. These wheels do not get frying egg hot like some older ones.

I can feel mine through my leather driving gloves so it gets pretty warm. I will get my multimeter attached to it with the heat probe and get some numbers later.
