Does anyone know if the Heated/Cooled seats HVAC module with the heated steering wheel hard button works with the heat only XLT seats? The XLT HVAC module controls the heat through the module itself, versus the heated/cooled seats HVAC module just sends a network signal to the DSM to control the heating and cooling feature. Looking at the back of the heat/cooled seat HVAC module, the pins are there for the power in and power out for the heated only seats. But not sure if the logic is there to actually control it that way...anyone know?

What is steering wheel hard button? Try asking your question differently. What do you have, what are you trying to achieve.

Hard button as in a physical button. Soft buttons are software buttons on screens...

Here is what I am talking about...
Ford F-150 Heated/Cooled Seats HVAC Module Work With XLT Heated Seats? 1728004072790-yc

So my question is, has anyone successfully used the HVAC module shown above with standard XLT heated seats? Or, is everyone just swapping to heated/cooled seats which requires the DSM module?

That module can be programmed for the XLT's seat config.

Does it need something beyond the standard XLT heated seat HVAC module programming? My heated seats were working before I swapped to the new style HVAC module. Now the heated seats aren't working. I have loaded the XLT heated seat as-builts into the new HVAC module...good news is the heated steering wheel works at least. LoL

Correct...heat button works and lights up. But no voltage out of the module to the seat heaters...and the cooled buttons do not work at all.

Sounds like it doesn't have the mosfets in it to control the seat outputs. I've seen it revert but never checked for voltage on it. Not sure how deep into you want to go, but if you find where the mosfets go, there's a high probability it will control them.

You can't add cooling to cloth XLT seats. All the cooling does is circulate cabin air through the seat and out the perforations on the "leather" seats. That's not possible with cloth, and so the XLT seats are not physically equipped with the cooling feature.

I've read somewhere that the cooling actually uses a TEC/Peltier device, but if that's true, mine is either malfunctioning or ineffective (as TECs tend to be). It stands to reason if you're cooling the seat, you likely also have the A/C on, so why Ford hasn't simply engineered the A/C to flow through the seat is beyond me. I will say though that on hot days when I don't have the cooling on I definitely notice it, so it's not completely useless.

If you want cooled seats, you will need to replace your seats.
