That is a USB to ethernet cable. You use it to plug in directly to one of the modules I believe it's the apim. I saw it on the TSB pamphlet so I just got everything I saw that they used. It doesn't make sense but for some reason you have to hook up the laptop to the adapter to run a ethernet cord to another adapter and then hook that adapter up to another adapter to the truck... When I hook it all up I'll make sure to take a picture of what it looks like. I don't understand why you can't just hook up directly to the laptop to the truck using a USB only ??

I do believe that is only to recover an APIM that won't update by any other means. I thought you moved past that state with help from the wizard.

Yep I did. I still had it ordered just in case. I shouldn't need all that set up but I'd rather have it all and not need it then need it and not have it ?

I cannot find a 2-day license to save my life! The only two day I have found is the FJDS/FDRS license for $50 for 2 days. Is that the one that everybody is using? I thought I saw people saying that the FDRS for 2 days was only $25 ??

Correct that is the one. $50 two days. Follow the FDRS thread.

There are websites out there that they want to remotely access your computer to get you a cheaper license access. Don't fool with that do it legit through Ford Motorcraft.

PTS/service access to see wiring diagrams and technical write ups is different subscription and does cost much less.

Well I am underway! I have lots and lots of updates to do but so far so good. I'm on the IPMA module and so far this one's taken a long time! Luckily the sun's going down so it's not so hot in Texas right now haha.

You also need an 8GB USB drive -- non samsung. I have some cheap chinese one that's the only one that works for me.

I have me a 32 gig flash drive that I used when I did the USB update originally which got me over my broken OTA update. I just reformatted it so it's blank and ready to go ?

IPMA took me 4+ hours packaged with other modules that all needed to update together.

Cross your fingers that you can update IPC over USB. Some of us it's impossible to update without the CAN bus due to some weird hardware flaw. 6 hours to update IPC over CAN.

I've been updating a big one for a couple hours but everything is going smooth now. Now I'm updating power steering control module and some other things and it's going rather quickly I'm still far from done though lol

APIM updates help you gauge where you are in OTA equivalency when the version changes. I was using that to judge how many more updates I had left to do. Just expect a very long day tomorrow.
