2021 Job 1 Powerboost - did all FDRS updates about 1 month ago (to get to 3.5.3) - my truck was previously "stuck" and did not get any OTAs for about 1 year. The numerous updates took >12 hours, and defintely required battery chargers, power supply mode etc.. to keep the battery > 12V.

After the 3.5.3 update, there was an option for full screen in Android Auto (AA) but full screen maps did not work right away (even though I had the latest Android Auto app on my Android phone) - still had the side used up by Ford apps.

Full screen AA maps worked about 1 week later (after a server side switch was flipped by Google) - ie CoolWalk now works with 3.5.3,

Yesterday I got 3.5.4 via OTA - this confirms that the "stuck" OTA stuff is resolved if you do FDRS updates. I did not do anything special (ie no battery charger etc.) except drive around lots (ie battery charged and in an area with good cellular strength).

Glad OTA is back and seems to be working!

I received 3.5.3.2 yesterday and just received 3.5.4 now. I was gauging the status of the update with the Ford website trick all day and there was nothing updating. Then this afternoon I saw the status change to “installation queued”. I started the truck to help the update along but nothing changed for 30 min until I turned wifi off like many have suggested. Within 5 minutes status changed from “deploying” to “installation successful”.

To ensure the truck cellular connection was strong, I monitored the LTE bars under the mobile hotspot button and connectivity under the bezel diagnostics menu. I don’t know if it helps but I’ve been sending feedback reports a couple times a day to Ford regarding software updates since Sunday. Maybe they were annoyed by me and just said give it to him.

Nothing shown on the website hack as of two days ago (null), went to ford.com dashboard to get my VIN for something else while at work and saw it says it has updated to 3.5.4. Wi-fi still on, I'm not near an AT&T tower, but I did curse excessively at my shifter that wouldn't come out of park this morning. I also manually updated to 3.5.3 at the first roll out.

I think there is a lot of superstition being generated around updates right now. I mean, I will slaughter a goat in the future if I need to, but I'd like to be sure.

These are great tips re: LTE signal gauging. Never thought of that. Thanks.

The feedback reports do require wifi though, right?

That’s correct. I recall as you send the report, a pop up comes on the screen stated it will send the reports over wifi. I guess whatever helps push these updates out to the masses is worth a try.

You probably need to have had an update to see that I’m guessing.

Finally got 3.5.3. The thing I did before this was reboot sync twice and sent update issue reports two times to Ford. Not even 24 hours after I got the update.

I think Ford said something about a chicken, a cigar and a bottle of rum.....
