Does anyone know if getting this Fx4 package changes the ride quality of a F150 platinum? Ive located a vehicle thats close in spec but it has this off road package that ive never considered. I dont need it but I dont want to sacrifice any ride quality to have it. Thanks in advance. Also does anyone know if all the Platinums come with massage seats even though you cant select the option anymore?

fx4 ccd site:f150gen14.com - Google Search

Active motion seats as standard equipment can be found in the Order Guide for the model year truck you are interested in.

FX4 does change the ride in any of the trucks. The Plantium stock ride is very floaty and soft, the FX4 shocks are a bit stiffer ride. The rear shocks should be replaced with the Blistens, gets rid of the bouncy rear end.

I've had several trucks with FX4 package and my current '21 Platinum is NOT an FX4 package. There's no way in hell I would consider my ride "very floaty and soft". Not at all.

IMHO, the FX4 package includes four junk ass dampers (front struts, rear shocks), some cheap skid plates, and stickers on the side of the bed. Not worth it. Far better to upgrade your dampers with REAL ones (e.g., Bilstein or Fox) and swap the stickers yourself.

Again, just my $0.02.

Well it''s floating enough that it makes my wife car sick in 4 miles. FX4 doesn't do that. It's subtle but it is floating, not like a 70's caddy or Lincoln floating.

I agree with you about replacing with real dampers.

I have a platinum with FX4 and I agree it's a gimmick. The struts and shocks SUCK!!

No offense, but perhaps it's not the truck.

Neither I, nor any of my passengers (including my wife) have reported getting "car sick" in a non-FX4 truck, whereas they are find in an FX4 truck. Again, I've owned various FX4 and non-FX4 trucks.

You also get rear diff locker, hill descent, and rock crawl mode. But I agree, waste of money.
These trucks are definitely floaty and soft compared to every other truck on the market.
You don't actually notice how floaty and crappy they handle until you upgrade the shocks.
Feel like folks get turned off by the words "stiffer ride" when discussing aftermarket shocks. Technically they are stiffer, but in a "composed" way. They get rid of the body roll/sway/chatter.

I optioned my truck with Fx4 knowing I was changing the shocks right away. No factory suspension is going to be any good off road (besides raptor). I got FX4 for the hill decent, locking rear differential, and drive modes.

You can get the locking rear diff as a standalone option for 1/2 to 1/3 of the price of the FX4 package. Everything else is a waste, again, IMHO.

I probably could have found a way to enable hill decent after the fact, but that was a must for me and I use it on every trip, locking my speed at 2-3mph going down a rocky technical trail. But yeah for most probably not worth it

Plus add Talon or other real skid plates if you value that

Yes, this. I replaced the suspension with the fox kit right away. Way better suspension feel, even with 34.5” E range tires.

rear locker is why I got the fx4 package, don’t care about the rest.
