Hi all. New to the forum. Just bought a powerboost Fx. Has anybody installed a Fumoto valve on their FX for easy oil changes? My previous off road package vehicle had the oil drain plug inaccessible unless the skid plate was removed first. I ended up cutting it out with a hole saw to make it easier. Just wonder because it’s too cold here to crawl under there right now and look. Thanks.

Yes I installed the F137N on my 5.0 and it works great.

I just bought one as I am installing armor plates to protect the CAT on my Powerboost.
Doing this as well. Which model # did you buy? I can’t get the Fumoto site to load so I can investigate.

I originally was going to get the Talon Cat plate and get that Fumoto valve but then I decided to try this.

ValvoMax Oil Drain System

I have not used it yet but I liked the safety factor of this. With that said I have never heard anything but good things about Fumoto. The only negative I have heard is that might need to replace it after a number of years. That could be said for any of the valve types though.

There's no skid plate covering the drain plug on the FX4 powerboost. Ford installs a felt like liner that has to remove (4 bolts) to access the area. Easy to pull down.

Did you get around to installing this?

I was considering ordering but seen this note on their site…

Note: the valve is not compatible with the newer F-150's that contain the plastic corkscrew-style plugs.

That note is from the last gen trucks. The 3.5EB in the powerboost has a metal drain plug and not the yellow plastic plug

No I have not installed it yet as I am still waiting for my 2022. Blend date is today actually (8/30).

From everything I have read the 2022's got away from the plastic drain plug so they are metal again.

With that said I did buy this and an extra "activator" with the extended hose. I am really impressed with this little device. If you watch some of the Youtube vids of this one thing I would say is to open the oil fill cover when you use this to allow air to get into the system. That will keep the oil draining at a better rate and not stop to allow the "glug glug" air to enter in through the drain tube.

Just a note on the Fumoto valve. If I got one I was planning to get a short piece of tubing (2" to 3") and seal the end of it. Then attach that to the valves nipple after the oil change and clean up. That would give me a visual reference to see if the valve starts leaking and offer a slight safety check too. The safety check is not as nice as the Valvomax but it would work.

Hi all. I am new to the forum and just purchased a fumoto valve for my 2022 XLT 3.5 Ecoboost. I haven't done my first oil change yet, but from what I can tell, this valve is going to prevent a huge mess on my garage floor. I have an empty 2.5 gallon oil jug that I can drain the oil into with a hose attached to the valve. I have seen on some forums where the lever on the valve has sharp edges so I took a piece of quarter inch heat shrink tubing and put it on the lever, seems to hold very well.

And if you use this suction method https://www.specr53.com/blog/diy/use-a-vacuum-to-change-the-oil-drain-plug-without-changing-the-oil/ you can easily replace the oil drain plug with the Fumoto and not spill a drop and then hook up your hose and drain away into your jug.
