Frustrating to see similar truck on lot with newer build date!

Still waiting for a truck with a build date of 11/23 (to be shipped to IN) and yet a similar truck (both with 5.0) is sitting on a Ford lot in eastern Iowa, build date 11/29!

I suppose it could be options, but still frustrating....

I would consider but they both had sunroofs which I really don't care for and I'm getting a pretty good price, but yeah, makes you think!

You could always buy some sunroof covers. Might as well buy a bundle so you'll have plenty on hand for replacements. ?

But seriously, I know it's hard but try to hang in there. I was one of many that waited 8 months or more to see plenty of similar trucks built and delivered before mine.

I think that if I ever have problems with my pano roof, I'll just have the top replaced with the solid unit and painted. lol. I'd leave the powered roller headliner though, and put pictures of a full moon and some wolves howling, so I could open and impress chicks.

My truck was ordered 12/16/21, built 4/16/22 and delivered 8/15/22. Not very empathetic haha.

I'm on my 4th estimated ship date!!!

But the silver lining.......by the time I get the truck, I might not need the missing heated steering wheel!!!

At least for this season.

There is hope, don't give up. I had a 11/7 built date. Went through the no chip issue for almost a month, then the delivery date got pushed 4 times. I just pickup my 2023 Lightning Lariat last Wednesday 1/11/23 and it was worth the wait. Good luck!

It has nothing to do with options. There is no rhyme or reason to Ford's method of shipping vehicles these days. I think they are just trying to catch up and just grabbing the closest truck, so it seems to be LIFO rather than FIFO like it should be.

Infuriating isn't it!

I ordered my truck in early March. Didn’t get a VIN and build date until May. (Build date, June 6th)

3 rescheduled build dates and two months later… I started seeing posts here from guys with trucks that had MORE options (chips) than mine getting their trucks delivered.

FIVE MONTHS and FOUR MORE rescheduled build dates after that, I had seen DOZENS of people get trucks delivered with more “chips” AND… trucks that were ordered MONTHS AFTER I ordered mine.

And don’t get me started with “Priority codes!”

There is NO rhyme or reason to why and when Ford will get around to building your truck.

I’m not sure I’ve even got into the Priority codes thing, maybe ignorance is bliss!

At least I’ve now seen the color in person Azure Grey, I like it, very different!
