Front Recovery Hooks

The chrome plating is flaking off on the front recovery hooks of my 2023 Platinum model... purely cosmetic... was wondering if that is covered under warranty? I'm guessing probably not. Anyone else run into this issue? I have the Azure Grey Metallic... maybe I can use an epoxy based paint (like that used in caliper paint kits) and do a black or red color. ..

Bumper to bumper warranty should cover it.

Check to see if it is a coating they put on the hooks for transport. Take a cloth with some brake clean and give it a rub. I thought the same, but it cleaned off my hooks easily.

Pretty sure it’s a protective coating. I thought the same thing on another truck I had . I used acetone to clean off the coating, then a good coat or two of wax .

you guys are indeed correct! from a distance, it really looked like the chrome was flaking, but sure enough it was some kind of dull transparent protectant... cleaned up and all good. thanks guys!
