I am trying to figure out how to mount a front hitch receiver on a 2022 F-150. From what I understand all F-150's have an active air dam installed under the front bumper to push air unto the engine to cool it. The barrier (air dam) has an extra panel behind that is lowered at speeds over 45 MPH to push more air up. If this air dam is removed or tampered with, there will be errors alerted to the system.

Has anyone found a way to install a front hitch receiver on a F-150 post 2021? None of the local installers have done so. They all refuse to "modify the truck".

I just want to mount a bike rack on the front while I tow my RV on the back.

Thanks!!

Yes
Mine is made by torklift
It requires lower dam removed
And a bit of trim on the mounted portion
Even though the sheet does not include 21. 22s it fits.
I talked to them at length before i bought it.
They are sort of bespoke...they build it when you pay for it. So it takes about 10days to show up
plus you don't loose factory ground clearance
I trimmed off chain hooks on hitch

I sent that hitch part number to several installers last week and they said they wouldn't touch it. Also my dealer said if I tried to remove any part of the air dam it would cause issues with the engine not getting enough air flow.

Your dealer (like most) is clueless. The primary function of the air dam is aerodynamic for fuel economy, not cooling. Dozens of deleted air dams on this forum can attest to no cooling issues.

If you can turn a wrench
You can put this one on
Like it was stated.. Zero do with engine cooling
Took me total around 7hrs over 2 days and I am old

The active air dam has nothing to do with cooling.

Complete bullsquat. The Raptor doesn’t have this active air dam. It doesn’t have cooling issues
