Hey All,

I went to do some paperwork for the XLT I ordered and got to do a quick check up and test drive. I thought I knew everything about this truck, but clearly not as my salesperson gave me a demo of the little sprayer that cleans the front camera. Obviously my first thoughts were how cool this little thing was and how much it looked like something from R2D2.

But now I'm wondering about how it's going to work in winter. If it tries to push itself through a quarter inch of snow/ice is that just going to mess it up or burnout the motor. Has anybody had any experiences like this yet or am I being paranoid?

TL:DR will the cool little front sprayer work in winter or crap out?

This will be the first winter for me with the 360 cam but they have been out since 2015 I believe, so you would think if there was a big issue of ice wrecking the camera washer it would be all over the forums. Also congrats on the new truck, I can tell by your profile pic you got it at the same dealer I work with.

My last car had headlight washers. If the camera sprayer is similar, it operates on fluid pressure with a spring return. The spring holds it in until the pump comes on, then fluid pressure pushes it out to spray, then the spring pulls it back in when the pump stops. The pump shouldn't have any damage if it can't overcome the snow/ice holding the spray nozzle in.

Along the same line, I wonder if the folding mirrors should be disabled whenever there is ice chances?

My first winter with our Sorento it took two storms, one freezing rain and one snow to jam up the mechanism for the auto folding mirrors. Warranty repair but I turned it off after that and honestly didn't even turn it back on in summer.

I have an XLT 302a with 360 camera package and I don't have a washer on my front camera. Any idea why?

Go in front of your truck and have somebody activate the windshield washer. If nothing happens bring it to the dealer.

Your truck in you pic looks awesome! Miller Hughes has been so awesome to work with. Even though I have another dealership 5 minutes away ever hour drive to them has been worth it.
