I traded in my 2021 STX 3.5 eco boost lead foot gray for an XLT Avalanche gray 5.0… although I loved the eco boost, this 5.0 is amazing! Hard not peel out everytime lol.

It sounds like it’s going to rip the truck in half once you pass 3,000 rpm, the induction noises are absolutely wild on the latest 4th generation engine. Addicting for sure, forget I’m not driving a Mustang GT all too often.

I have a 5.0 with 3.31 gears. Not the quickest off the line but real nice from 50 on up in sport mode.
Coming from a 5.4L/3.73 with the 6R80 in the Expedition my 2023 F-150 5.0L/3.31 feels alot lighter on it’s feet and fast off the line. I think it depends what you come from lol. Compared to my aunts 6.2L Denali I can definitely feel the torque deficit down low, but it makes up for that with the crazy power up top. My 5.0 will run the 6.2 down once I let her spin.

If you have a hard time not peeling out with the 5.0, you must have been melting the tires off the 3.5 given the torque curve difference.

I put 86k miles on my 2021 3.5 and for me the take off power from this 5.0 is nuts. 3.5 did not compare.

My dealer was willing to let me either have the same equipped 302A 4x4 Crew XLT....
One with the 5.0 and one with the Ecoboost 3.5 for the EXACT SAME PRICE (The Ecoboost truck was $924 more on the sticker).

Drove the 5.0 first. Nice! Drove the E 3.5 second. MEH! (I could still tell I was driving a V6).

Salesman knew when I drove back which one I was taking.
