Hi all - Was wondering if the Fox 2.0 shocks are decent for towing a 5-6k trailer? Will is be to soft of a shock for trailering?
Currently have a 2024 F-150 Fox 2.0, with 34's, will be getting a travel trailer soon.

Thanks !

I don't think FOX shocks would be my first or even second choice for towing. Not really a design criteria for the company.

Pulling that heavy of a trailer, I suspect you are looking at air bags. I do not have air bags on my F-150 PB (with FOX shocks). But I do have airbags and Bilstein shocks on my F-350 with a 1500# slide in camper.

I would personally not use fox. For the fact of having to be rebuilt often. I went with Bilstein 5100 on the rear and 6100 complete coil over on the front. Tows great.

I have the 2.0 on the rear but I use RAS helpers for sag. I pull 7-8k with them twice a year going south for winter. Over 1500 miles each way. I have no problems.

Serious question. Why are you replacing shocks at all? I paid for very good money for Ford to sell me a truck that can do its job from day one. My 2023 I've been towing my 5k pound travel trailer for a couple thousand miles now. Some 8 hr tows in there. Absolutely no issues with the factory shocks. I dont see why any Gen 14 would need different shocks to tow with unless you just like buying things and "upgrading"

Ford factory shocks are plastic body pogo sticks...at least the ones on my 2025 Powerboost Lariat were. Immediate ride improvement when I replaced the factory shocks with Fox with less then 200 miles.

I did the same on my F-350 when new...albeit with Bilstein shocks and Air Lift Loadlifter air bags.

But I probably have a sensitive butt and do prefer a responsive suspension.

Factory shocks suck. Towed with them then upgraded way better ride after upgrade. To each their own

Like a few other stated, fox shocks are not valved for towing. They are considered off-road type shock. They’re good for bumps, primarily faster offloading, think dirt roads.

But who knows they might work well for you. They wouldn’t be in my top five choices of shocks.

I guess that's the difference. Ive been happy with the factory ride. Could be a case of i dont know what im missing. I was happy with the ride of my f350 too so there's a solid chance im insensitive to the difference a shock would make

I have a 2022 F150 Lariat with all the high tow package. I changed to the Fox 2.0 for leveling the truck and the ride and handling was much improved for daily driving. I have a Flagstaff 26RBWS travel trailer and it tows just fine. I just came back from a trip driving 1800 mile in Michigan's Upper Peninsula and it drove perfectly fine.
