I've been thinking about dipping into the FORScan pool just kinda scared but everyone makes it out to be pretty easy. My question is I have an xl/stx and they don't have alot of options as it is and I want to see what kind of options I'd even have if I started the FORScan way of life.
Can xl/stx owners chime in and tell me the things id be able to add delete change modify in my truck.
I've read alot of higher trim owners doing all kinds of stuff bit I'd like to know the xl/stx specifics please.
Thanks in advance guys

Man I figured someone with xl/stx would have done something with FORScan ..
Can't lie I just recently learned what Bambi Mode is and that's what got me to thinking about FORScan . Lol

Check out the “Common” tab in the spreadsheet from this thread. There are several nice ones that should apply to any trim level, depending on your preferences:

- Double honk disable - removes the double honk when closing the door with the engine running and keys in your pocket. This was my first reason to use Forscan and would have been worth it by itself
- Auto stop/start disable - unless you’re lucky enough to have this deleted. I got lucky and found a Platinum with this as the only delete. ?
- Disable driver/passenger seatbelt minder
- Disable auto engine stop after 30 minutes idle
- Prevent headlights from defaulting to auto
- Disable door ajar chime
- Disable key in ignition chime
- Disable auto reverse breaking
- Global window open/close (unless you have manual windows)
- Various DRL adjustments (brightness etc)

And as you said, Bambi mode. I have this enabled but I honestly can barely even tell when the stock fogs are on.

edit: There may be other settings you’d like if you explore other tabs. Forscan is a very deep rabbit hole.

So pretty much the Bambi mode and the global window if it works on phone. Other than those 2 on that list would apply to me. I'm about to look at the link you sent to see if there's anything else.

The double honk doesn’t bother you? That alone was enough for me, LOL.

Might be a dumb question but I have the halogen headlights. Don't they all 4 turn on when on brights. I think the Bambi mode would look neat with all 6 lit up. Lol

Ah, TIL - I didn't even know a regular key was an option. I drove an STX a few weeks ago but I think it was an XLT. It had one of the keys with integrated fobs, like this.

Oh yeah, now that I think of it, while it's still a fob, even if there was a double-honk you wouldn't be able to trigger it since the key needs to be in the ignition for the engine to be running. That should have been obvious. ?

While you don't get honk jumping out you probably get the key in ignition door chime that you can disable if you want.

Yeah maybe i could do that too.
I wish I knew someone near me I could get with that has FORScan and could help me out. I think I'd be to scared to mess something up. My truck prolly wouldn't ever be the same. Drive backwards in drive honk hor when hit brakes. Lol

Also if you ever decide to retrofit any features from other trim levels, you'll probably need Forscan if any electronics are involved.

You have better payload, better sound, better off road. It's better at being a truck. ?
