I finally decided to wade in to Forscan. Main reasons are the double-honk, and silent (camping) mode.

So...I backed up all the modules, and got comfortable with the interface. Then decided to flip the magic bit in the BdyCM for the double honk.

Seemed to work, so I took it for a little drive. At first I thought it was running a little rough...but I'm just paranoid about messing with this.

BUT what changed for sure was a few noticeable things on the dash. The MYVIEW settings were different. The THIS TRIP, TRIP 1, and tire pressure for sure were gone from the display. And, I had previously changed the right hand gauge to read PSI, it went back to its default setting.

Are there more little, or big things that changed that I don't know about? Should I be worried? I'm thinking about changing it back just to see what happens and maybe document it. Or maybe this is normal? I've got a big trip coming the end of the month, towing our travel trailer. Don't need surprises on a dirt road in Utah...

Thanks in advance

losing myview settings is a very frequent thing to occur when making changes and thus is not indicative of anything.

Some things can reset the adaptive trans tables so it may drive a little different while it relearns your driving habits.

Thanks HammaMan...

I'll try the silent mode tomorrow and see what happens!

Any time I get an OTA, or do any updates in IPC, I lose my previously save MyTrip settings. It also resets the dimmer for the dash to the brightest setting.

Not a big deal - just takes a second to put it back the way I like it. Nothing out of the ordinary with what you did.

I lose MyView settings all the time, maybe once every week or two.

Ok I think. I implemented the "silent mode". Just can't understand why that switch is not standard. I'm old so I forget things, but it seems to me that before the change, the touch screen would light up on entry. It does not now, when silent is OFF. That's fine with me but I keep wondering....what else did I change?
