I’m real new to forscan. In fact I’ve never any of it. But have to learn so I can add the factory keypad to my B pillar. Service manager sort of a goo about doing this programming.
So I need to know what cable I need to connect my laptop to the OBDiI. Tks.

I have both the USB OBDLink EX (first purchase) and the BT OBDLink MX+ (later purchase I wish I'd bought first). Both work great for FORScan mods with the laptop.

The more expensive MX+ is nice because it works via BlueTooth with a smartphone and the OBDLink app to provide useful vehicle monitoring capabilities, a 'bonus' on top of FORScan support.

I leave the MX+ always plugged in to the OBD port but only connect the app occasionally for checking things like battery SOC (quite handy to advise of the need to plug in the Noco charger for a top-up session before issues like a failed OTA update arise).

I just went through this on my new (to me) 2023 F150. Here is the one you want:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B081VQVD3F/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A1C2436WDJ39HA

Worth every penny. I have changed several things and saved 100s between the F150 and Bronco. No more annoying double honk is my favorite Forscan change.

Forscan seems daunting at first, but just watch the youtube videos and follow the easy steps from other users. There's a little quick-start guide card that comes with the OBDLink to get you connected--very simple.

Good luck and check out the forum for pointers if you get stuck. Lots of great people on here who have paved the way for the rest of us--literally click, change to "Enable" and "Write." That's it!!

IMO, always buy whats recommended from Forscan to assure compatibility. Dont try and save a buck or two on something else that says its compatible. Forscan
Agreed. The link I posted is the one Forscan uses/recommends. Its $60 on Amazon.

Forscan seems daunting at first,
The number one rule / practice to reduce the 'daunting factor', as stated in the excellent tutorial by Livnitup, is to always back-up modules immediately before making any changes.

This critically important step is not mentioned in many YouTube videos.

As long as you've got that contemporary back-up you can recover from 99.9% of the other mistakes you may make.

Tks guys for all the help on this. I’m sure I’ll be back asking some more questions once I get into this.
