Seems there are two VIN Information providers. The first which I provided below for everyone is easliy accessible. The second.... is some "thing floating around in Ford space". If you ask the mystery provider LOL you can get information about your own vehicle.

1) The Ford VIN Decoder. I'll happly post this one: https://www.fordforum.com/forum/vindecoder.php

2) The "Ford VIN Thread". A thread, in my experience in IT, is simply a part of an online discussion. A "Thread in a lager piece of fabric". The Ford VIN thread It isn't a program, like that above, from what I am gathering. It is more like a Captain Crunch secret decoder ring. I lost mine.

My question is "By who, what, where, why and how is the "Ford VIN Thread accessed ?????? Will somone kindly provide it to the public?

Unfortunately, the decoder isn't 100% accurate. It says I have an XL short body. I have ab XLT & long (6.5') box.

Just for fun, I plugged in my VIN for my Lariat with 6.5' bed. It showed it being an XL, BUT I spied a drop-down box :

Ford F-150 Ford VIN Thread vs. Ford VIN Decoder 1705793887991

From the drop-down box, you can change the trim level and box, and some corresponding items will change (like price). But it seems to me that should all be embedded in the VIN. And in the end, it still has the wrong optional equipment, color and price - except for the price, ALL of these other items I would think would be embedded in the VIN. So, I agree - terribly inaccurate....
