Just a quick curiosity.

I recently heard that the OEM Tray Style Floor Mats that you can option from Ford are terrible quality. Can anyone speak to this? Should a person not bother spending the extra $200 on them and just go buy some WeatherTechs or another solid brand after taking delivery of the truck?

My truck came with the tray style mats. I thought that they were alright. I did not have an issue with the "quality" of them at all. I did pull them however, not because they were a problem, but because I thought there were better options out there.

Just my opinion - and based on personal experience - I would avoid Weathertech. They deform, the edges curl in, and their "Lifetime Warranty" is bogus. I'll never buy anything from them again.

A lot of forum members like the Husky. I went with Baselyer and really like them. They are also a sponsor of this forum.

EDIT: I should have mentioned that one issue that I did have with the factory mats is that they would not go under the pedals to catch rain/snow. That whole Toyota mat screw up had a big impact on all automakers. The Baselyer mats DO go under the pedals - and I'm pretty sure the Husky mats do too.

Right on. Thanks for that insight.

Interestingly enough the comment about the WeatherTechs deforming and curling in on the edges is what I heard the Ford ones do... haha. I have WeatherTechs in my current vehicle and for the most part they have performed well. But with that said, I am definitely in no way committed to that brand. Im open to whatever is best. I have never seen the Husky brand, or Baselyer. I will definitely look into them.

Thanks for the advice!

I pulled my factory mats very early in the truck ownership experience. It could very well be that I pulled them before they even had a chance to curl.... ?‍♂

I did not order any tray style mats but went with WeatherTech as they were the only brand that had the color I was looking for and they provide good coverage. Hopefully, they do not curl but only time will tell.

Sounds good. You shouldn't have any issues with your WeatherTech mats. Ive had them in my current vehicle for 4 years and they haven't altered at all in any way.

On a different note... It took you a whole year to receive your ordered truck???

I had the Ford tray style mats in my 2021 501a for almost 4 years/55,000 mi. and never had an issue with them curling. I liked the quality and the way they laid down. Also, they aren't slick like the WeatherTech mats I've had in the past. I hated the way my shoes would slip on the WeatherTechs when I was getting in the truck. YMMV

Unfortunately, it did take nearly a year to receive the truck. Believe me when I say I was on Autotrader and other sites on a daily basis searching for as close a match but no luck. There was always something missing/added.

Would I do it again? Probably not.

I had factory mats but decided to get Tuxedo floor mats. Better coverage.

Had them in my 2018, they were okay but I like the Husky liners in my 2023 much better.

I ordered my truck with the tray style mats and have had them for 2 1/2 years. They seem to cover all the areas that could get dirt. The material seems to be of good quality and there has been no curling.. They lay flat like on day one.. I am happy with them...

I've had them all. Hate the Weathertech- too hard and slippery. OEM mats are OK. But I've been buying the Husky X-Act Contours for all my vehicles since finding them in 2015. Perfect combo of texture, material, color, and coverage.

Not sure if these are the “tray” style you mentioned but I ordered the Ford all weather floor mats before I had my truck. I’m happy with the quality and fit and coverage.

If I were looking aftermarket I’d prob go with Husky.
