Just had my Ford Dealer perform TSB25-2331, which loads a new IPC module software version. I had left it with the dealer, because it takes around 3 hours if it works the first time, in this case almost 6 as they had to do it twice. I will report back in a week or so when I see the oil life decrementing correctly (or not).

SonarChief, thank you for the update and TSB#. That's an expensive fix for Ford if it takes that long to reprogram. I'll have to wait until after hunting season to be able to leave my truck for that long.

Well for me I’m still (barely) under the 36k miles, so it was covered, and if I had not been, I have the cable and laptop to load the IPC using FDRS’s.

Thanks for posting this information. I’ve been racking my brain trying to figure this out … picked up my ‘24 certified pre-owned PB in June. Had 6400 miles on it and oil life monitor showed 47% but the dealer did do an oil change (I know for fact). Anyhow I Iet it be figuring they forgot to reset. At just below 10K and an OLM reading of ~19% I had oil changed and the OLM was reset to 100%. Well for last few weeks it’s been me seeing it back to 19% and resetting to 100%. Debating about taking it in just for the TSB or waiting for the 15K interval. Thanks again for sharing!

I also just had dealer perform TSB 25-2331 and can confirm that it took over 5 hours for them to complete the update. Their senior tech commented that if the updates to modules aren't successful on first attempts and need to be repeated multiple times it could potentially take more than one day - be prepared when you go in for this update. I'm going to monitor to be sure that the issue is resolved long term.

brunner, thanks for keeping us posted though it may be a while before we hear from you if the fix was successful.

I had TSB 25-2331 applied to our 2024 Powerboost a few weeks (and ~1000 miles) ago and the OLM has already randomly dropped to zero twice since then. So, back to the drawing board.

Yeah... sounds like a reset and not an actual fix for the problem. Nice...

So it’s been almost a month since the TSB was performed, and the oil life continues to track normally, now at 81%. Before it never made it past 89% before going to zero.

Mine has now dropped four or five times since the TSB. :( That’s been about 2000 miles (~1400 towing a lightweight trailer) in less than two months since the TSB was performed.

Did you have the truck in trailer mode? Wondering if it might have any effect (not an excuse, but maybe related).

I have the truck set as towing a trailer in the towing settings when towing. A lot of the time while towing it’s in Normal drive mode but I do use Tow/Haul mode when in curvy roads or hills/mountains.

I do think towing has something to do with the oil life monitor problems. But it really is awful software in my opinion. I don’t think there needs to be a very complex algorithm to do what they’re trying to do, but they have really screwed the pooch trying to make it overly complicated. If it wasn’t so complicated code, it would have been fixed by now.
