Does anybody else have issues with the Ford website’s “Search Inventory” feature?

It says there is not a single match for a KR or Platinum PowerBoost within 100 miles of my DFW zip (or even 500 miles by changing the radius in the URL). Is the engine filter incorrect?

However, I can go on Auto Trader or to local dealer sites and find some that have been sitting for months.

Any easier way to search accurate inventory?

You'll get zero exact matches when you pick options not usually on truck lots. The similar matches will be missing something. You have to keep changing around the dealer option to see more inventory. That website was annoying to use in 2011 and it still is the same way. Third party websites can be better but not always as updated.

I tried submitting an IT thing on their website showing the glitch when searching for a V8. I got some nonsense answer of “try using the filters”. Their IT peeps are pretty much useless. The function sucks.

it doesn't recognize the powerboost filter. Try looking by trim, then scrolling through the models until you see a hybrid. Dogshit website as mentioned.

Check out cargurus.com. Way better search options.
Depends on what you're looking for. Cargurus has a seat count (good for finding 6 seat vs 5 seat trucks) feature autotrader doesn't.

Don't rely entirely on dealers to accurately include line-item options. It's hit or miss if they do so properly. Take for instance when I was looking at lightnings, they were saying small battery trucks had big batteries which is a big difference. Verify the info on the window sticker.

We used car gurus to search specific
Then ford's build price search to see window stickers
Some times, often in fact ford's inventory search gets trapped..clear your cache a few times helps

It did the exact same thing to me. I used auto trader to find them and then went to the dealership's site to look at the window sticker. You can filter to show just V6 to get rid of the V8s and at least narrow it down to ecoboost and powerboost

And then you can filter on Fuel Type and choose Hybrid to get PowerBoosts. But still need to check the window stickers.

I'm starting to think Ford purposely makes their vehicle search function absolute trash, to push consumers to local dealers.

There is absolutely no logical reason why I can't search every single Ford dealer's inventory across the country from Ford' website.

The Ford.com Inventory search is next to worthless. For all the reasons already mentioned. It's truly horrible.

Using sites like cars.com, autotrader, car gurus - while yes, you can use filters to look for specific things - at least in my area of the Southwest, I find a very small percentage of Ford dealers - like 1, or maybe 2 in 5, actually list their inventory on these sites. So you see maybe 20% of actual local inventory that way.
Meaning the only way to search actual inventory is to spend tons of time, going through each dealers individual web sites - and I find many of THESE search functions are horrible as well!

So much for progress.......I remember just a few years ago, the Ford inventory search engine was dead on accurate. It's now horrible - next to worthless.

That doesn't make much sense --- why wouldn't a dealer list their vehicles on the open market. All of the listing / indexing is done automatically for the most part simply pulling data from their website. It's not like someone at the dealership is adding each vehicle to each website.

I have purchased 3, brand new F-150's in recent years. I'm looking for my fourth, and having a hell of a time searching, due to the two reasons, Ford.com inventory doesn't work, and very few dealers (within 500 miles of me anyway) use any online sites. It was so much better in past years. I don't the the exact reason this "is", but it sure is a 100% fact. I have probably gone into the Ford.com inventory website dozens of times the past couple years, and it's always the same. Worthless. The filters absolutely NEVER work.

For what it's worth, the Ford dealership in Spokane Valley Washington has a 2024 Platinum for $80,000. That is a 143" wb, non FX4, non Power Boost model. They have never had good pricing on their cars and this is another example....
