Hello. Recently purchased a 2024 F150 XLT and want to get the kicker subwoofer upgrade. I've called a couple dealers and they said they've never installed one. Anyone on here have one installed at a southern California Ford dealer and can send me the recommendation please.

Yeah I know I can get something better. But, I bought a 10 year bumper to bumper warranty so I want to do everything through Ford. I'm cool spending 500 for it to not give them an excuse to not do something. Plus just want a little extra bass. I don't want to get a full on focal system going hard with 2 toddlers in the back lol

Just FYI the 10 year bumper to bumper warranty may not cover Ford accessories. They typically have a different warranty. The dealer will deal with it, but it's not necessarily covered. So - ask the question and if it won't be, head for a local car audio shop.

I didn't think about that. Thank you for bringing that up! I'll definitely ask about that. Thanks!

Ford parts carry typical warranty when installed by ford. Haven't seen anything to suggest the ESP covers any dealer installed accessories.

They don't. I'm going through this exact issue on a Ford branded Trifold cover that was installed as part of the purchase of the truck. Parts and service having trouble getting on the same page as to who needs to submit the warranty claim.

Go read the product page. That might be ford performance parts warranty that follows factory warranty.

Ford "licensed" products are different. And I suspect that the subwoofer kit is a "licensed" product, as was my bed cover.

Got it. Man, I have some homework to do. I'll ask Ford and the credit Union. I got the 10 year bumper to bumper from the credit Union and just assumed it will cover all products Ford sell. I really appreciate all your guys ' info and experience!

I have the kit and work at a Ford Dealership. I really like the kit but for what they charge at MSRP its not worth it. Its not hard to install but you will need a dealership to turn it on in the ACM VIA FDRS or you can do it with forscan. It will not be covered under your vehicle warranty, it only has whatever Ford accessories give you for coverage. If you can get one second hand and install yourself go for it. If you are going to pay full price plus install DONT. Just get a acm harness from plugNplay so you don't have to splice any wires and a higher quality sub kit. Matter of fact I would just do a pNp harness with a Kicker Key amp and new door speakers. That will give you some extra bass and alot more headroom for upgrading down the road. Just my $0.02

Awesome! That answers my question. Just paranoid that I'm going to install something like speakers and if the headunit acts up down the road the dealer will tell me it's my fault

If you do an amp your head unit will be none the wiser. It’s just intercepting the signal from the acm and amplifying it. If your really paranoid like me the harness is worth the investment cause you can just unplug it and go back to factory. It literally does nothing to the oem modules and nothing has to be cut or spliced into. There’s a lot of threads on here about it and I can help with any questions.
