Has anyone by chance measured and checked if this expedition console will fit ours? Cupholders and all?
I could be wrong (yet again! ;)) but I suspect that relocating the drive mode switch assembly from its place on the dash would not be a popular complication for most F150 owners.

IMO that console location makes it too convenient, susceptible to accidental switching.

What would you use to fill its former location?

I hadn’t quite gotten that far with my thought process. In regards to the wiring, I think this would be one of the easier things by making an extension with a pigtail if they are both compatible with our vehicles. Different years of expeditions do not have the drive mode switch there. So it may be a non factor if we could find the right year and the whole piece is compatible. The one simple reason I ask is because I think this conversion that everyone has done would look more factory if you could use the chrome trim and the whole switch was flush mounted.

Anyone know if anyone cracked the code to get this to work with the 2025's yet?

If you are willing to give up the plus and minus shift buttons, you can probably get a 2025 maverick shifter to work. But Ford no longer makes a console shifter with plus and minus buttons, so there are going to be no TRON-compatible variants available. The Expedition shifter is now on the dash, and it's a very weird shape to try to retrofit to a center console.

I have a working Raptor wheel with the paddle shifters on my Tremor so losing the +/- on the Rotary wouldn't be a big deal

Send me a DM if you need a conversion bin printed, I have the files for the non +/- button version.

You'll need to find a shifter for a 2025 maverick (which should have TRON), and I would hook it up and test before printing files and tearing the console apart (You can get to the plug by just remove the side panel). You'll need to plug in the new one, then use FDRS to assign TRON keys to the new shifter.

Right on, will do. How difficult is it to get the TRON key(s) programmed to the new shifter? Is that something I can do or do I need to bribe someone at the dealer servicer with a 18pk? lol

Funny, while searching for the rotary shifter -- looks like Maverick guys found out they could do the swap the other way:

I believe you can do it yourself, but maybe ask in the FDRS thread for confirmation.

Small update: I had previously added the cup holder/media bin/glove box light per this thread:

https://www.f150gen14.com/forum/thr...glove-box-light-ambient-lighting-change.8385/

After grabbing AJZride’s console piece, I added another median bin light (part ML3Z-14A318-C). Was easy to cut a small hole and wire with the other media bin light (used spade connector so I can remove the shifter trim piece if needed)

as an aside, I would probably move the drive mode selector as well. I actually use that more than even the main shifter. And I HAVE changed the wrong one on occasion. Ford did a good job keeping me from killing myself…

Outstanding job and a great idea! I have the parts (except the harness) for the lighted cup holder and media light but have not done that yet. I also want to switch to the rotary dial and may look into adding that media light to this shifter cubby too. Thanks for posting.
