FDRS without purchasing a license

So I was gearing up to buy an FDRS license for this weekend but first wanted to get the latest version of fdrs installed. As I was installing the new version I had an option to license by my user id or using a license key, I chose user id. After it was finished installing, I launched the app and it appears as though I have a valid license even though I haven't officially purchased anything yet? I just logged in with my username and password and all appears normal and functional.

Is this normal? I just don't want to get a surprise large bill later or anything. I was not asked to purchase anything, didn't enter any payment details, nothing shows under my subscriptions on motorcraftservice.com etc.

Needless to say, I am not very productive in my day job today as my day has now turned into doing all of the updates while I have possibly free access to FDRS.

On a side note, mach-e owners are finding randomly that they're able to get a free year of bluecruise when looking at the renew options.

I am certainly going to run with it, I don't really have anything else to do now that all (except SCCM which is failing) updates are done. Hopefully it sticks around and I don't get a bill later.

Have you actually got an account on Helm Inc's site? As they're the ones we pay for licences, if you have an account there I'd check it isn't piling up.

If you haven't got an account, stay under the radar ?
