FDRS Showing No New Updates?

Hello everyone I have issues/questions about the SYNC update issue I’m running into. Pictures attached.

Background: I have a 2021 F150 that was running into the greyed update issues. I followed the steps and completed A LOT of updates through FDRS/Mongoose cable. I finally reached a dead end with no new updates showing besides the BCM which I can’t do and some audio module I already installed but just lingers.

Issue: FDRS is showing no new actionable updates and my system is showing Version22293, Revision 610 (which seems to have came out in 2023).

Question: Does anyone have a solution? Has anyone ran into this issue before? Ford is telling me maybe one day it will be pushed out to me and that I have to wait but 2 + years in the making is kind of crazy right?

The ACM doesn’t go away, so if you’ve already updated it, disregard.

The BCM requires a secure dealer login and none of us have it.

Regarding Sync:
22293 came out on the 293 day of ‘22, so about mid Oct of 2022.

About a month ago (~20 Jun ‘25) Ford removed access to APIM (Sync) updates for vehicles less than version 23187 per their following SSM:

”SSM 53966 2021-2025 Various Vehicles - SYNC4 - General System Performance And Stability - Programming No Longer Available

Some 2021-2025 Ford/ Lincoln vehicles equipped with SYNC4 may not be able to perform an update to the accessory protocol interface module (APIM). This may be due to the software in the APIM. Ford Engineering has de-activated the ability to update these SYNC4 APIM modules as applicable, and the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS) will not present an update for the APIM module.”

There is no solution. Not anymore, anyway. There is nothing you can do but wait for Ford to release more updates for you. Eventually, you will see a GWM module update show up and when you do that one, you will be able to update the APIM and TCU further. There is an SSM Ford released to dealers about this. Thought I was doomed last night when I read about no updates for the APIM after buying the equipment and license. This morning I had GVM and APIM updates showing up, my truck was all the way back at 22087.

I believe I got it to update 2 times, currently at 22293. I no longer have any updates left, but I'm hoping more come in soon enough. I was able to get Bluecruise and full screen android auto working.

Thank you, I wanted to confirm there's no new update released for the 2021 right now before I pay for a new license. I also was only able to get up to 22293.

My 21 is on the latest sync version and APIM update sync 25094. There's a thread out there with information that some 2021s that are on sync versions from 2022 and older currently won't get new updates until Ford releases them to those trucks.

Thank you, I wanted to confirm there's no new update released for the 2021 right now before I pay for a new license. I also was only able to get up to 22293.

I purchased the 30 day license just in case I couldn't get it all done so I'll keep checking and let you know. Im hoping to get past where I'm at by the end of the 30 days.
