Yes, on the Powerboost- and only the Powerboost (at least I think) - the speaker behind the front bumper is where the backup beep and alien UFO sound emanates from. I don't believe these two sounds can be separated from one another; meaning turn one off and not the other. I don't believe that FORScan can turn these sounds off either. I don't believe you can simply unplug this speaker either. Well, you can, but I suspect you'll get dashboard error messages. You can purchase devices from MegaOhm Motorsports to rid your truck of these sounds. They emulate the speaker, but the truck is none the wiser.

I'm gathering that the fake engine noise has nothing to do with the above. It is something completely separate. I think it is a sound that is played through the audio system or a dedicated speaker(s) in the interior of the truck. It is a sound for the benefit of the driver; whereas the above sounds are for the benefit of people outside of and around your truck. I don't rightly know if the fake engine noise is in the Powerboost. This sound can be disabled with FORScan. The change you need to make is 727-01-01 xxxx-xxxx-0xxx. My Powerboost as-built is 727-01-01 xxxx-xxxx-1xxx. I don't know what the choices are for this data point, but I assume it's only 0=disable or 1=enable. I haven't noticed any fake engine noise in my truck. I'm not saying it isn't there, but if it is I don't hear anything that makes me think fake engine noise. I've decided I'm not disabling this in my truck.

If only I had slept in a Holiday Inn last night I would know about this for sure. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I can confirm that the front speaker under the bumper controls all of the outside noise (backup beep and UFO sound). Rather than the MegaOhm device, I 3d printed a cover that I've placed over the speaker and muffled (but not eliminated) the sounds. I haven't noticed a fake engine noise, so I haven't tried to make any forscan changes to eliminate that.

The Forscan change done related to the speaker isn’t to disable the sounds, rather prevent the system check of the PACM module after its disconnected. Otherwise it would trigger mil or DTC (don’t recall). Subsequent Forscan start up will indicate it could not read it.
Months ago it immediately stopped the dump truck sound (the PACM disconnect) so I was happy with that. I did disable the separate engine noise settings to, but I never really noticed them. a bit my setting was on initially. Found one for a mach e that I works characterize as described.
I am unclear on what this UFO sound is, it’s been described in so many different ways and I’ve not found a F150 specific video that captures it, only the dump truck beeping.
I wrote the sound I have off as transmission, but I questioned that today. If that speaker is only activated by the PACM, then it shouldn’t be able to. I may unplug the speaker to confirm what i’m hearing is the trans vs ufo

Here is a video that plays the alien UFO sound. The sound plays in EV mode at slow speed; such as when you're in a parking lot or driving in your neighborhood. I don't think this sound can be the fake engine noise. It doesn't sound like an engine, nor is it meant to. This sound and the backup beep is mandated on EVs. It's a safety thing supposedly.

I'd seen that video before when, it was linked in the thread for the guy selling the bypass deal. Mine never made that sound his did, so didnt really pay it much mind at the time since I couldnt relate, only the dump truck dinging that I had before disabling.
Explains why I never could understand what folks were on about, that would be annoying. Really sounds more like an small outboard / small lawn appliance motor at a distance. How the heck does one get UFO from that?
I'd almost want to know why mine never made that noise, but not very much. Glad it didnt lol.

Can you share the file for that cover? Seems like a smart solution without actually disabling it

Does the 5.0 have piped in exhaust.

Only say this because in normal driving...seems like no exhaust noise...but if you punch it...it becomes somewhat loud and fake sounding.

I am kind of sad to read that Ford is piping artificial engine noise into the cab. I've heard the F-150s have surprisingly quiet interiors and piping in noise would seem to work against that.
