Who uses factory navigation vs google maps vs waze? I like factory because it finally does trailers. I didn't have it on my F350, because it didn't then.

Do I have to continue using Fordpass to update? Keep updated?

Thanx - Dean
I use the ford navigation. I like it better than google maps/android auto.

Not sure the connection with Fordpass?

But map updates? These maps don't update themselves
things like map updates are reasonable.

But the first subscription that I recall was for seat heaters on a German luxury car.

And even though I'm an economist, and understand the economics of making a single item and charging differently by features, it sticks in the craw rot have to pay monthly to use something you own. [the earliest case I now of is an IBM business machine in which the field upgrade to double processor speed removed a slug tat was halving it. And there were the 70s calculators that used the same chip, but added buttons for extra features, like memory and square roots]

But bluecruise seems a bit extreme. It's $80 a month, four times GM, with only a third or quarter as many miles mapped. Only one non-freeway (Boulder Highway) in Las Vegas last time I looked. And, supposedly, stellantis/dodge will flat-out lap GM, let alone ford, sometimes this year--all included with the purchase of the equipment.

And in the case of the navigation maps, I find it hard to believe that ford will be keeping up with either apple or google, which almost everyone already have on their hones.
