BlueCruise kicked in for about 30 seconds and Lane Centering for another 30 in different locations. Other than that, nothing. It seems like a calibration issue. Just waiting on my appointment this Saturday.

So i have a very similar issue with my HUD and i believe the wrong glass was also installed. Can anyone look up the ford engineering pn for this window PN?

Carfreak, the number shown on the glass is not a part number, it is the engineering number. The part no. for my 2024 Lariat 502 windshield for a HUD is RL3Z-1003100-J. I assume that would be the part number for any 2024 F150 with a HUD. You can see from the screenshot below, there are 3 engineering numbers that could be on your windshield if you had a windshield installed that supports a HUD, with -FD being the latest engineering version.

The engineering number you showed on your windshield is incorrect if installed on an F150 with a HUD. I do not believe it is even the correct windshield for a MY24. The parts guy told me that the windshield for the 2024 F150 is a new design. I did confirm the engineering numbers are different for a 2023, supporting that the 2024s have a new design. Checking the dealer's lot, I saw at least 4 different windshield types for MY24 F-150s, e.g., RL34-P03100-A_, -B_, -C_, and -F_. When I researched this last October, the RL3Z-1003100-J part no. (RL34-P03100-F_) to support a HUD was not in stock with no date for availability.

i believe this window is from a 24 F250. I have an appointment with Ford as this truck was delivered with this window installed. I found out that the window was replaced during transport. I was looking to confirm as i hate assuming something with no proof.
I believe the PN for the window currently installed is RC3Z1003100B.

You didn't provide with specifics on your truck, e.g., year, model, trim. If you have a 2024 F150 with a HUD, the part number (engineering number) should be RL3Z-1003100-J (RL34-P03100-F_). Your Ford dealer should be able to provide the correct information just like my dealer did. If they tell you what you currently have is acceptable for an F150, its time to raise the red flag.

My apologies i have a 24 F150 Lariat with the HUD. The PN you listed is the correct glass. I have had a double image since i bought the truck.

Carfreak, please update us on your truck when it has the correct windshield installed. Specifically, how your HUD clarity is. I have postponed getting my windshield replaced because I do not want to risk having a degraded HUD like the double imaging you have.

I have an appointment with the dealership on Wednesday to have it “inspected”. I will post pics of the double image later today

For what it’s worth my 2024 F150 Tremor 402A (with HUD) has the RL34-P03100-FD windshield.

Wow, Carfreak! So sorry to see that double image. I've worked with HUDs for many years in the aviation industry and appreciate the challenges of presenting clear symbology to the user. I look forward to your update.

I had the re-recalibration done on Saturday. After a couple of days of driving, BlueCruise and Lane Centering seem to be back to normal. Safelite took about 30 minutes to complete the job. I have a two-hour interstate drive tomorrow, which should put it to the test. I'll update here if there are any issues.

So after having the dealership look at the truck and verify the incorrect window was indeed installed. They have placed a new window on order. I was told it is on backorder for 4-5 weeks. I will submit an updated picture of the HUD when the correct window is installed

Carfreak, keep us posted. The supply chain must be doing better as at least the windshield can be on back order.

Ok update 19 Feb 2025. My dealership is telling me Ford Engineers are adamant its the right windshield previously installed. They did change it anyway and the HUD works as advertised. The wrong window was installed by a repair shop due to damage during shipment.
