F150 Windshield Replacement for MY2024 or later with Heads-up Display (HUD)

The first week I had my new truck I took a rock into the windshield which now has to be replaced.

Has anyone had any experience with replacing the windshield on an F150 model with a HUD?

Is it a windshield specific for HUD projection?

Did the replacement windshield still show a clear, focused image of the HUD or was it now a little blurry?

Is there a HUD focus function that a dealer can access to improve clarity if needed?

Does any company out there provide a HUD clarity/in-focus guarantee?

Any information would be appreciated. I bought this truck specifically because it has the best HUD on the market. I can't afford to now have it degraded by a replacement windshield.

BTW, I'm thinking I will have a picture of the HUD showing its original clarity and have the replacement windshield set in place to verify acceptable clarity before they seal it to the vehicle.

That's terrible! I would certainly want factory glass as a replacement. With out substitution. You can photograph the Ford part number on the glass before they pull it out.

Make sure the replacement is OEM glass. There's been some ghosting/double vision with aftermarket glass, even the premium Fuyao/Pilkington stuff.

..... You can photograph the Ford part number on the glass before they pull it out.

part number is located in the lower center of the windshield.

Edit: this is not the part # but an engineering number as explained in the next post.

I have continued to dive deeper into a windshield replacement. Turns out the part no. for my 2024 Lariat 502 windshield is RL3Z-1003100-J. What is printed on the windshield is an engineering number (picture above). You can see from the screenshot below, there are 3 engineering versions for this part number with the -FD being the latest. The parts guy told me that the windshield for the 2024 F150 is a new design (yes, the engineering numbers are different for a 2023). Checking the dealer's lot, it looks like there may be at least 3 different windshield types for MY24 F-150s. I saw -A_, -B_, and -F_. The -F_ windshields are an acoustic glass used on high trim levels. The RL3Z-1003100-J part no. shows not in stock with no date for availability.

I have a 24 F-150 with less than 2000 miles and had my windshield replaced with OEM glass. They said it was recalibrated and sent me a report but now BlueCruise and Lane Centering will not kick in. I have an appointment to have it re-recalibrated.
After reading this post, I'm glad I paid the extra $90 that insurance didn't pick up to get OEM glass. I did not verify the original part number before it was replaced. Hopefully, they can get the issue resolved.

Sorry, I didn't clarify... I have an XLT without HUD. I was just sharing my windshield replacement experience and making sure everyone checks BlueCruise and Lane Centering after replacement.

I didn't get the part number of the original glass but the replacement is RL34-P03100-CC.

So i have a very similar issue with my HUD and i believe the wrong glass was also installed. Can anyone look up the ford engineering pn for this window PN?
