F150 Headlights AlphaRex vs Diode Dynamics

Hello everyone,

I’m interested in upgrading my headlights. I want to know if anyone has installed the diode dynamics or the Alpha Rex ones. Also if you guys know which is better. My first truck so new to the mods

Im leaning more towards the diode dynamics Elite max ones. Any advices would be helpful

I have the AlphaRex on mine and like them. Mainly the light 'dance' they do when locking / un-locking as well as turn signals. Not sure if the DDs offer that or not. I've only seen pics and no vids.

I will say I am not impressed with the AR light output, especially with a tinted windshield... lol

I do like the “dance” when locking and unlocking on the Alpha Rex. Same still haven’t seen any videos either. I guess I will wait it out then. Good to know they aren’t as bright as you thought they would be through the tint. I know my front windshield is going to get tinted as well. Thanks for your input and clean 5.0

I have the AR black version. I'm not a huge fan of the LED DRL. Can see the individual LED like the previous generation F150. They do not match the OEM LED fog lights. I am going to do a light tint on the fogs to have them blend some more. Despite this, it's not a deal breaker for me. I do like them. The projectors are nice vs stock reflectors.

I have the Luxx version of the lights, I agree with the above posts the output is not mind blowing. But it’s respectable, If I had the chance to do it over I would be between the AlphaRex Novas, Morimoto, and DD elites. I will say that I’m in no way disappointed with the Luxx lights, the value offered for $1,000 can not be beat, they look amazing and have more features than the $2,000+ lights. I have been slowly adding lights to supplement the high beams. I’m about to add a 30” dd light bar to finish the light setup!! You definitely can’t go wrong with the Alphas, I would just spring for the Nova’s. I preordered the Luxx before they even announced the novas.

Sweet!! Thanks for the photos. I’m leaning towards the DD elite. Haven’t looked much into the Morimoto’s. I have a similar color to your truck. (avalanche grey) great to see how it would look. The headlights definitely make a huge difference. Did you change the rear tail lights ?

I'd look more into DD and their product quality control before springing for them.

Only the not black parts emit light. That’s why you have the ability to paint match almost the entire light!
