What is your grandchild wanting to do within the industry? I.e engineering or business side?

I told her and him...we need to get in school to learn.
She could do wind turbine attitudes
He is not so sure footed up high
They both are leaning at hands on, training certs and get a career going
We have a few training tracks I found near us, so I am exploring funding streams .

She has the brains and understanding to tackle engineering track.
She has always been the one to ask how and why things work.

Maybe I csn get him a job working with solar installer..???
Test his metal so to speak

We told them both, the great grandchild will need lots of spending money as great grandpa is high maintenance,
?

There is a shortage of electrical engineers from what I've heard, and there is a particular shortage of power engineers, meaning EE's that work in the electrical generation/transmission/distribution field. We get paid pretty decently and the benefits are generally really good.

Have them look into the IBEW. The training is free through their apprenticship programs. Once they have completed their training the world is wide open as far as what they want to work on. Buildings, oil refineries, manufacturing, solar, wind, hydro, you name it. More things are requiring electricity in our world!
here’s a list of Texas locals

I would also recommend looking into being a union pipefitter. Same route as the IBEW. Great salary, insurance and pension. I know from 40 years of experience.
