A couple weeks back when it was subzero temps I had the no start/stop safely now issue. An hour later the truck started with the engine light on. After driving it for a bit the light went away, but then came back last weekend. It went away again on Saturday, but returned today. When it happened on Friday, the electric motor would not engage at all, and the same thing happened today.

Temps have been in the high 30s all week, so it doesn’t seem like the weather is causing it anymore. Taking it in tomorrow, but has anybody had the engine light showing code U0287? “Lost Communication With Transmission Fluid Pump Module”

it drives with no issues, just ICE only. Mostly wondering to see how long I may be without the truck.

I just got U0287 today. 2021 F150 XL Hybrid. Happened at ~40F while going down a mountain pass, Slippery Drive Mode and was in electric no ICE. Electric mode will not happen since CEL. Curious how this plays out for you as well.

It’s been at the dealer since Friday morning, so I’ll follow up with details when I hear back from them ??

Apparently everything was normal except the 12V battery voltage was low, so they charged it up Friday and let it sit through the weekend. They said they tested it this morning and in good shape, and it drive normally on the way home.

I find that odd considering everything else was working except electric mode. I have a feeling it’s gonna happen again, but we’ll see how this week goes

Your 12v AGM is likely not ok even though the dealership says so. I just had the battery changed on my 4 month old PB and that code is one the found during my visit.

After seeing how much a new 12v battery ‘fixes’ a lot of the issues it’s clear that having a good battery is essential in these powerboost trucks. The truck seems to stay in electrric mode more now and little odd idiosyncrasies that it had before are gone now.

I am thinking this is most likely my issue as well. I have been getting random "service charging system soon" prompts for the last 10 months/ 10k miles. Dealership did nothing because they couldn't replicate the message. They said the battery was tested, but I question the validity of the test.

I can't get into the dealership until 2/12. The service writer did say there was a TSB out for the U0287 so I guess we will see what materializes from that when I take it in.

What battery did you end up getting? I have seen some discussions around the H8.

I had a list of issues with mine including that “service charging system soon”, “trailer brake fault” and the dreaded “stop safely now”, no start situation once. Plus the truck went into deep sleep even after a drive. All of that was apparently connected to that low 12V on the main battery.

It was replaced by Ford, under warranty with another H7 AGM battery. Interestingly, it’s a Motorcraft brand one instead of a FoMoCo. If you have a PB I don’t think you can fit the H8 due to the modules taking up the extra room on the battery mount.

i had the wrench light on last week when it was in the teens and snowing. I also did not have electric mode.

my 22 PB 501A lariat with factory H7 battery gets driven a couple times a week, so i bought a Noco genius 10 over the weekend. I connected it to the battery and the red (0-25% charged) light was blinking. After a few hours, it was fully charged.

I plan on charging the battery once a week throughout winter, then see what happens when spring gets here.

Does this seem to fix the u0287 issue? Just got a CEL and wrench icon last week and trying to figure out the culprit

Hi there! Will you send us a message with your VIN and your local Ford dealer? I can look into things on my end.
