Maybe a dumb idea but I’ve heard from some that leveling shocks at max or near max setting rides more firm than a lower setting. Is there any ride quality/softness to be gained by installing leveling shocks at their lowest setting and throwing a 2” puck on top to get the level?

you are able to pair aftermarket front struts with spacer pucks, yes.

Pucks limit travel and bottom the shocks earlier.
Avoid them if you can, avoid off road excursions with pucks.

That wasn’t really in question. The question is if there is anything to gain ride wise by combining leveling shocks at minimum settings with a puck?

aftermarket shocks are generally longer than OEM. PLUS making it even longer by adding the puck? have you seen the bent shock mount pics on toyotas?

Maybe. I understand the idea. Reduce preload on the spring but add lift back with a puck. I think in theory it could give a softer initial ride.

I’ve thought of this myself but literally not a single suspension company or vender does this so that’s a clue that it probably does not work.

If I were to try I’d only use a 1/2” spacer.

Also as mentioned above, the combo of spacer and strut might then be too long for the bump stops to make contact before the shock fully compresses. You do NOT want you shock acting as a bump stop.

I have done this with Bilsteins 5100 series front shock. It is the correct way to do it on those as the amount of preload at the higher settings can be enough to break the ring clip that holds the lower spring mount in position. Also bilsteins get really rough riding if you max out the spring rate for lift.

Some companies offer a higher lift kit, utilizing leveling coilovers and pucks on top of that to gain more "lift"

I’m not really interested in more lift due to CV axle angle. Just want the best ride quality possible with a 2-2.5” level. If an extra $100 puck would achieve that goal, it is easily worth it to me.
