DSM Update | Gain security access failed - security key is wrong

Hello,
did anyone have an issue with updating the DSM module in Lariat 2021?

Every time I perform an update (via the Forscan app) I get the below error:

DSM - Driver's Seat Module <(ERR) Gain security access failed - security key is wrong>
Part number: MU5T-14C708-BG
Calibration level: MU5T-14C708-BG (latest known: MU5T-14C708-BL)
Strategy : MU5T-14C030-AH

did anyone have an issue with updating the DSM module in Lariat 2021?

FORScan is not recommended to update modules as if often cannot pull all the files needed to do the update(s). I can't say for sure that is the issue here as I have never attempted what you're doing, but it unlikely you will get much help here since we use FDRS to do updates.

Thanks for your reply. I believe FDRS is some kind of Ford dedicated service software? Unfortunately in Poland, they don't give a sh*t about cars from US, so we need to take care of everything on our own.

So the question is - can I do it on my own?

FDRS with a proper cable and VPN to fake being in US is how many have been successful. You are on your own if you decide to pursue that. Keep in mind most updates really don't do anything special so you might not want them anyway for all the hassle to do it.

You'll need the Mongoose cable, don't try any of the cheaper options they will fail and possibly mess up your truck. People have been down that road already.
