What exact vehicle do you have? Maybe we can pinpoint it to a specific style.

Mine is an XLT SuperCrew with the bench/cuddle seat. V8 engine.

I have a Lariat 502A SCrew with 3.5EB
I think the common factor is remote start. Wonder if it has something to do with how fast people hit the lock button and then remote start button. Like it’s locking while trying to start?

OK, so it has *ZERO* to do with the exact trim!!

I think you're right: it's something to do with the Remote Start, possibly with going too fast from "Lock" to "Start". It has never happened with a regular start. I will try to go slower with the Remote Start and see if that helps.

That was one of my guesses. You hit lock button and double click the 2x button real fast and it starts while maybe in the lock process or that module is active. Like the module is actively working then loses power when the truck starts or resetting the module…I’m an electrician but maybe someone more fine tuned with automobile stuff can chime in.

but it doesn’t do it often and it had been awhile up until about a week ago.

I have a 2022 XL that did the same thing this week. I don’t have remote start on the fob just on the app. Mine corrected itself while I was driving. The lighting on the switch was off and the front windows and the mirrors did not function. The switch would function the rear windows.

I had this exact thing happen to me this morning. Remote start, went to get a coffee wouldn’t roll down, pressed a bunch of buttons and when I pushed the left mirror button it started working….. anyone on here find a solution?

Seems like remote starting tends to cause the issue. I remote start every morning M-F and every afternoon M-F…I’ve done over a 500 remote starts if not more…maybe 3 or 4 times…next time I’ll try to take a vid or at least a pic. Usually happens when I ain’t got time for that haha

I had my local dealer replace the switch and it still does the same nonsense. Including the ever annoying "auto up, auto down" issue.

Great to know a software update *MIGHT* fix a power window which has been around for 50 years. PATHETIC FORD.

yeah it is frustrating, I’ll keep an eye on it and report back, although the days are getting warmer here in the northeast so I’m not sure how much I’ll be using the starter in the near future

I just had my second master switch go out. Ford has replaced both out of warranty. My warranty literally just ran out after the last event, so we'll see what happens next event.

UPDATE:
Fast forward to the end of May, and my 3rd switch is already starting to act up. FYI, I seldom use the remote start function.

My 23 is just over 6 months old and just over 5000kms. This has happened about six times now and remotely started. The last three times this happened I just hit the left mirror button and viola back to working.
