Door rattle fix - arm rest (pics)

So like a handful of people here...I've had the driver-side door rattle (not the triangle cover by the mirror, already fixed that). But this rattle was coming from the door arm rest area.

I finally dove into it today and it could've been a couple things. Once the door panel was removed I noticed the plastic cover on the inside door panel wasn't completely seated, so I seated it back down (not sure if that was it, but at this point who knows). Then I noticed the door lock had significant play in it. So I shoved a folded shop towel behind it. Then tightened every screw on the door panel. One was extremely loose on the door handle mount. Took it for a test drive and no rattles. Hopefully it stays that way. ??. As I put more miles on it, I'll give an update.

The rattles were slowly eating me alive as a rattle inside the cab of a truck would be the death of me. Now time to find the rattle coming from the passenger side seat?

Like the arm rest next to the window, or the actual door arm rest? Mine does this and it is driving me insane. I keep pushing and mashing and it comes and goes. I will have to try this to see if this resolves my issues as well. Second issue with loose bolts and/or something rattling.

well this suck, for how expensive this trucks are this should not be problem, rattle in a truck drive me crazy!!, I have been lucky with my rams , I had a 2018 ,2019 and 2020 and those rams are solid like a rock, I have my 2022 f150 on order I hope I will not have any rattle in it.

Well in all fairness, these trucks are so crazy quiet that any noise is a "turn down the radio, what the hell was that sound" type of thing from me. I have had just about every F-150 out there and this is the first one that has had a mystery rattle and am glad to hear it's not just mine. Probably an assembly thing they will fix. Between that and keeping mine insanely clean, I am glad someone tracked it down. Removing the door panels is pretty straight forward just didn't have time to dig into it. I am in the midst of painting all my chrome accents body color so just too many projects at once.

did your fixes hold up? 0/2 getting dealer to fix so might have to investigate myself
