I received my first door ding recently. ? I try to park in door ding free spots which usually means the end spots or the furthest space out, but I guess it wasn’t enough because someone got me. With my other vehicles I’ve owned I have purchased magnetic padded door ding protectors from Amazon. The issue with the Ford F-150 is the magnets obviously don‘t stick to the aluminum body panels. What do you guys do to protect your trucks from door dings?

If I ever take the door panels off (hate doing this) I guess I could glue some magnets to the inside skin of the door and that would allow the traditional magnetic style door ding protectors to work similar to this but that would also attract magnetic debris to stick to the door and could create scratches. https://www.amazon.com/Datanly-Prot...29-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9tdGY&psc=1

Prevention is great, but years ago I bought a setup like this and it has paid for itself big time.

Puller

At some point in the future I may pull the door panels to upgrade the audio system so maybe that would be the time to try and roll out or push out that dent. I’ll have to consult YouTube for that. ?.

Looks like there are no good options for door ding protection I guess.

This is great for theft but could be modified for door dingers.

I find dings and scratches come fast and furious in the beginning when I'm stressed out about them and then happen with considerably less frequency a few years in when I stop going crazy over each one

Does this puller really work and not leave blemishes on the paint? Thanks.
Takes practice like anything, but 99% of the dents I did, were gone, I had one complex ding on my daughters Honda tailgate that I could not get perfect. I must have taken about 6 dings out all around that car. I just sold my 13 last month, I had a small door ding in the passenger door that had just happened after 12 years. It was about 99.9 percent fixed, the only reason I say that is because I saw the dealer estimator stop and do a double look. Average Joe would never have found it.

Yes it works, but you will need to practice. Most took at least 2 to 3 pulls and minor knock down for the over pull.

Long story short, a 2015 F150 was the first new vehicle I ever purchased, within the first week of ownership I got a door ding at work parked against an end curb because the passenger in a beat up 90s era Camry was careless. My only regret was not pursuing it at the time since I knew which car did it and we had cameras everywhere.

I have a slide sledge, some legit suction cups and have been through it…

That ding looks really close to the rolled edge on the door, so dinging it there is just wow.

You could try the heat gun/dry ice, worst that can happen is it doesn’t work.

Get some rock sliders, turns the tables on the would be door dingers.
Don't the running boards serve the same function? Seems like they are too low to protect against door dings.

It is always that first scratch or ding that gets to you.

Ford gave some of us with the factory tailgate dampeners an opportunity to scratch it ourselves that first time down.
