Also, why do you walk away from a running vehicle?

I would be happy if they would disable the double honk when exiting in generator mode when powering my travel trailer.

It is also a nuisance when getting out to check trailer placement when setting up camp at night.

May be its because of broken clock spring under the steering wheel, a bum horn relay, a broken wire, or a corroded ground.

It's good that ForScan is available for those who want to change it. I had to train myself to leave my key in the car with my previous 2018 Mazda CX5. It also yelled at me the same way. Usually because I want to leave the car idling while my wife was in the car and I got out to run into a store. Initially it was infuriating but now I like the feature for that reason. If she needs to move the car for safety reasons it would kinda suck if she doesn't have the key. Now I have got to where I just throw the key in the console 99% of the time. I generally hate having stuff in my pockets anyways.

I'm surprised that it can even be disabled with forscan. One of the car companies was sued for lots of dollars when a family died from carbon monoxide after accidently leaving their car running in the garage.

Lots of reasons… pull out of garage, stop, go get dog and put in the back. Stopping to get mail at the end of driveway. Forgetting something in the house. Moving the truck to a spot on my driveway or yard to load something up. And so on…

I think all trucks do this now. It's annoying as heck! It would be nice to turn it off but then people will be complaining that they didn't get a warning when they left their trucks running or the key was still in the truck. Ford has to do what they have to do so they don't get complaints. There are owners out there you leave their trucks running or the keys in the truck and forget. Let's not forget that there has to be a warning on coffee cups letting you know that the coffee is "hot" lol. Just as a reminder. Sad but true.

I think the VAST majority still use an audible beep rather than the horn, thankfully.

Start the truck, put on the seat/stearing wheel heaters and defrosters, then get out to scrape ice or brush snow off with it running.

My truck automatically shuts off after 30 minutes of idling unless I override it. Not that 30 minutes of running in an enclosed area wouldn’t be enough to poison a person, but would maybe prevent death(s) of anyone in the house.
I too find the feature to be highly annoying. I feel as though it should be a setting and maybe just provide users with a warning they have to acknowledge they read (cya) for those who wish to shut it off.

Mine warns me when the 30 minutes is almost up, and asks if I want the truck to continue idling.

There is a very easy plug-and play solution called "Honk Eliminator". They also sell a "Bambi Mode" update that allows you to keep your fog lights on with the high beams. They also sell a system CANopener system that allows use of the NAV system and other inputs like telephone while in motion (passenger only of course )

I have all three installed and they work great - no honk any more when walking away from the truck while it is running, my fog lights stay on all the time, and we can use our NAV system anytime.
