Diode dynamics Elite Max headlights and fog light issues (UPDATED 9/18/24)

This is sad to hear, once they iron out the issues it will be a solid product. But whatever they are doing now is not working. But there off-road lights are amazing. If your taking the time to replace the fogs definitely go with the SS3 kit, I have it on my rig and it is worlds above the posts above with only a single set of pods on.

Pulled them off, initiated a return on the order and ordered OEM projectors and a high beam+low beam harness. No more aftermarket lighting for me.

I don't think they're a bad company, in fact I've heard nothing but good things about their off road lighting. But this release was a disaster. Wasted time and money for us customers.

You are being very kind, and I greatly appreciate that you see the issues around this single product. This release was indeed a disaster, but as a whole company, we need to do much better as well overall. There were far too many things we missed, just because we thought we did the testing that was necessary before shipping. We set the lights on a shelf for hours running through functions. We pressure-tested them. We verified cosmetics. Clearly, with the harnesses breaking or coming disconnected externally and internally, and radio interference issues, the testing was just not thorough enough.

Wow, you'd think they would be testing all these replacements before they left...

The harnesses, which were replaced, are rebuilt and we know they are 100% good. The lamp he's describing was the original set we shipped. Unfortunately, there is clearly something wrong inside the lamp. Based on a few lamps that have been returned, we have seen defects in the internal wiring as well. At this point, it's most likely that we will be essentially doing a recall on the initial shipments, and offering to exchange headlights for anyone who hasn't installed. We are working on this internally and will share more information when we have a clear plan available.

Totally agreed. What we are doing now is not working at all. I can share that we have over 18 actions in progress to resolve a wide variety of issues on both headlights and fog lights. At the end of the day, we should have realized the complexity of these lamps, and done a lot more field testing before offering these for sale, and certainly before shipping.

Anyone experiencing trouble or waiting, please feel free to contact us for updates. We will be sending another email out tomorrow with general status information. Of course, it is completely understandable if you'd like to request a refund at this time, and we can help you with that as well. We will be working hard to prove to everyone that these lamps are truly superior, once these bugs are worked out.

@Diode Dynamics Thanks for the honest response Paul. You would never see a response like this from cheap Chinese light manufacturers.

This is one of the many reasons that I have purchased multiple set of diode dynamics lights.

I've mentioned before that I do have some issues with my elite series fog lights, but I was one of the first pre orders in 2022 and expected to have some issues with a brand new street legal product that looks factory.

Good luck, and I'm confident that you will solve these issues and continue to take care of your customers.

I just bought these. They look good can’t wait to get them on my truck.

I initially bought the elite fogs but I wanted something brighter and I read about all the issues they’re having with this release.

Question for anyone with the Elite Max series and @Diode Dynamics

When I go into the low beam assist programming mode to add the off-road lights, instead of the off-road lights mirroring each other they match. So both lights to the left are active instead of both inside lights or both outside lights.... check video attached for some context. It's hard to show through video because of the flashing but you can clearly see the main source of light comes from the left on both.

Do I have another issue here with possible wiring being reversed on one of the lights?

Not to add to the above issues, but I ordered the C1 reverse pod for the hitch on 9-20, online showed over 500 in stock.
Same day, ordered some detail rags form The Rag Company...they arrived Saturday. Checked my order for the hitch on the site, showed item backordered.

So cancelled it, and ordered something else.
Just want to give you DD a heads up. Weird, showed in stock, didn't ship, then order said Backordered. <shrugs shoulders>
